Position Overview:

This is a part-time, non-exempt position - approx. 20 hours per week. The Accounts Payable Analyst will be responsible for managing and processing invoices, ensuring timely payments to vendors, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
Location: Y Combinator is headquartered in San Francisco. This candidate is expected to work 1-2 days a week at our San Francisco office with the flexibility to work from home the rest of the week.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Review, process, and code invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues promptly.

  • Maintain and update vendor files, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date, including W-9s and contracts.

  • Assist in the preparation and processing of check runs, electronic payments, and wire transfers, ensuring timely payment of all invoices.

  • Collaborate with internal departments to obtain necessary approvals and resolve any payment-related issues.

  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up-to-date and follow up on outstanding invoices.

  • Support the implementation of process improvements and automation initiatives within the accounts payable function.

  • Review corporate credit card charges for accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Prepare yearly 1099 tax returns to applicable vendors.

Requirements:

  • Strong critical thinking: you’re able to problem solve and know when to ask questions.

Qualifications:



  • 2+ years of experience in accounts payable or a similar financial role.

  • Proficiency in Google Sheets and Quickbooks.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Compensation: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour (depending on skills and experience). This is a part-time, non-exempt position - approx. 20 hours per week.
