Job Description
We are looking for a Manager, Solutions Engineering to join our rapidly growing team. The Solutions Engineering team is responsible for customers through the full customer journey (pre-sales to post-sales) by helping to design, implement, and manage their Tailscale deployment to ensure their business objectives are met. The team works closely with Tailscale Sales and Customer Success teams to provide technical expertise and also collaborates with Marketing, Product, and Support. As Manager of Solutions Engineering, you will lead a team that has a major impact on our customer experience, success, and growth.If you are passionate about people leadership, networking, and security, and are excited about working at a fast-growing startup we want to talk to you!
Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow a small team, developing their skills, helping advance their careers, and recruiting additional team members
- Set a high standard for your team for customer evaluations and successful rollouts, contributing to new customer acquisition and the expansion of customers
- Work closely with our Sales team to meet and exceed revenue goals
- Collaborate with teams across Tailscale to improve our customer experience, proof of concept process, sales materials, documentation, and more
- Provide feedback to Product and Engineering teams on customer needs and product improvements
- Stay up-to-date on the latest cloud, network, and security technologies and trends, and ensure your team invests in education and development
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in a management role
- 5+ years of experience in a technical, customer-facing role such as a Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, or similar
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Familiar with networking and security concepts
- Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development, and web technologies (cloud architecture, CI/CD, etc)
