In this role, you will design, build, and maintain the data infrastructure surrounding our data warehouse and supporting systems. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong technical skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to ensure seamless data flow, robust data pipelines, and optimized data storage solutions across the entire company. Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Pipeline Development:
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable ingress and egress data pipelines across our data platform
  • Standardize data ingestion and transformation processes to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Work closely with data and product teams to understand data requirements
  • Data Architecture:
  • Act as a leader and advocate for data architecture, promoting best practices and standards across the company
  • Design a scalable and efficient data architecture that supports the business needs
  • Be an advisor to product engineering teams on an as-needed basis for data architecture decision-making
  • Data Observability, Quality & Governance:
  • Implement and monitor data quality checks, data governance policies, security policies, and other best practices to ensure data integrity and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data pipelines, data models, and data integration processes.
  • Optimize and manage our data warehouse to ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Solicit feedback and facilitate buy-in on proposed solutions from stakeholders
  • Effectively communicate critical decisions to all stakeholders
  • Implement recommended solutions in collaboration with product and engineering teams

Qualifications:Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Professional Experience:

  • 7-10 years of proven experience as a data engineer or in a similar role, preferably in the marketing or SaaS industry.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing scalable data architectures

Technical Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in a data development programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and a variety of database management systems and architectures (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.)
  • Extensive experience developing, testing, and deploying software
  • Experience developing within AWS
  • Experience with cloud-native data warehouses such as Snowflake or Databricks
  • Experience with event-streaming data platforms such as Kafka
  • Experience with data pipeline and workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, ArgoCD, etc.
  • Familiarity with data transformation tools such as dbt and ETL tools like Fivetran

Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to design and implement efficient data solutions for complex data challenges.

Communication Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a remote environment.
