Position Summary
As a QA Specialist III, you will be an experienced member of the Quality Assurance team, responsible for leading and executing advanced testing activities to ensure the highest quality and reliability of AccelByte's products. This role is ideal for individuals with a proven track record in QA, strong leadership skills, and a passion for driving continuous improvement in quality assurance processes. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the QA strategy and mentoring junior team members.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
The QA Specialist III is accountable for the following functions and responsibilities:
- Define and implement comprehensive test strategies for complex projects, considering test coverage, risk assessment, and resource allocation.
- Lead and coordinate testing efforts for large-scale projects, including test planning, execution, and reporting.
- Champion the adoption of advanced testing techniques and automation tools to optimize testing processes and increase efficiency.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and quality metrics to measure and report on product quality, driving continuous improvement.
- Oversee the defect life cycle, ensuring timely and accurate defect identification, reporting, resolution, and validation consistently.
- Collaborate closely with development teams, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on quality objectives and strategies.
- Continuously evaluate and enhance QA processes, methodologies, and best practices, and guide the team in their implementation.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior QA team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Assisting senior QA and the QA Manager in their day-to-day tasks, and
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience Required
- Bachelors or relevant work experience or certification/courses.
- At least 4 years of proven software testing experience, including test planning and execution.
- Basic knowledge of game design fundamentals (understand how the game is meant to function and develop), and basic project management (SDLC, forecasting, resource planning, cost estimation, road mapping, planning participation, teamwork, and development methodologies).
- Experience with API Testing, User Experience (UX, styling, and client requirements), software architecture (design pattern, security, scalability, backward compatibility, abstraction, interface design), game engines (Unity & Unreal), test cases (Xray, Qmetry, Testrail), bug management tools, PC/Console/VR development, and CI/CD tools.
- Knowledge of the company's products & services.
- Knowledge of QA methodologies.
- Experience in test case design and execution.
- Experience working with cloud platforms or web products is preferred.
- Experience working in a multinational technology startup is a plus point.
- Eagerness to learn new technologies.
- Proficiency in written and verbal English language.
- Flexibility to adjust to work routines/schedules.
