Job Description:
KMT Waterjet, Inc., a Shape Technologies Group Company is seeking a Field Service Technician to join our Field Service team. In this role, you will provide customers with first-rate field service and installation of their waterjet units, phone-based technical support, preventive maintenance repairs, and field training for high-pressure intensifiers, including their ancillary equipment. You will report to the Service Manager and collaborate closely with other departments to maintain seamless operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include but are not limited to the following:
- Provide troubleshooting and repair service for waterjet equipment.
- Respond to customer inquiries in person, via telephone, and email.
- Provide extensive training in the safety, operation, and maintenance of waterjet equipment.
- Process documentation of all activities relating to customer inquiries or field service.
- Assist in the development of new products and emerging technologies.
- Be an effective liaison with Engineering and Sales departments regarding customer feedback and new product development.
- Process requests for replacing defective components in compliance with KMT warranty.
- Assist other service technicians in their territories with service.
- This position requires 70% travel from your home location to customer sites, sometimes with limited notice.
- Office duties include accurate record-keeping, proficient computer knowledge, and effective organizational skills are required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic, plumbing, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic skills are required.
- General diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Independent judgment to analyze and solve technical problems.
- Proficient with Microsoft Suites and other relevant software.
- Good keyboarding skills.
- Excellent interpersonal relationship skills and ability to professionally manage and resolve stressful situations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Positive attitude, initiative, and dependability
- Demonstrated ability for innovative/creative thinking.
- Good organizational skills.

Education and Experience
- Technical or Associate Degree or combination of education and experience.
- Preferred B.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Field Experience is a plus
