Job Description


Acumatica is looking for a Senior Systems Analyst to join our Retail - Commerce team at one of our offices in Montreal or Ottawa, Canada. Join us to build the best-in-class business product using Acumatica xRP technology and grow your skills in the highly professional environment!

Responsibilities:


  • Engage proactively, methodically, and creatively with product managers, partners and customers to identify and elaborate business needs, distinguishing them from user requests.
  • Work closely with software developers, product managers and fellow analysts to understand technical concepts and to be able to translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • Evaluate information from multiple sources, analyze, test, and document functionality when it's necessary for the design work.
  • Structure information, write functional design specifications and technical requirements. Collaborate closely with software developers and QA engineers during programming, debugging and testing of the new or enhanced functionality.
  • Perform acceptance testing, report bugs.
  • Troubleshoot customers' issues and propose solutions.
  • Demonstrate features and enhancements being developed to the technical and less technical audience, manage feedback.
  • Cooperate with product managers to help elaborate the product backlog.

Qualifications


Requirements:


  • Higher technical education in computer systems, systems and networks; information systems and technologies, system analysis and management, computational mathematics and informatics.
  • Experience in system analysis, software design and development of functional specifications - for 5+ years.
  • Candidates should be able to provide a portfolio with examples of past specifications, upon request.
  • Experience in business software development industry – for 5+ years.
  • Previous experience working as a Software Developer, Programming Analyst or other coding related work is a strong advantage.
  • Understanding of software design principles, software engineering processes, software product lifecycle
  • User empathy, ability to model user behavior and see flaws in the running application.
  • System thinking and ability to manage complexity at different levels.
  • Ability to structure large amounts of information, decompose objects and processes, synthesize solutions, do impact analysis of the changes.
  • Critical thinking.
  • Attention to details.
  • Strong technical writing and technical communication skills.
  • Business English is required for this role.

Will be a plus:


  • Business analysis experience for complex business products (similar to ERP) and products with a continuous life cycle and maintenance.
