Pay Range:


The full pay range is $89,762.00 - $134,644.00.

Depending on experience and qualifications.
In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available. Incentives targets vary by role.

We are seeking an Applications Reliability Engineer to join our team! This position works with business partners and stakeholders to identify opportunities to use existing technology more efficiently and improve business processes. Maintains, monitors, configures, creates process improvements, and creates new automation in the organization’s automation engine. Responsible for several business-critical systems, including the institution’s document storage system, ITSM Tools, CMBD, batch processes, and general automation.

Essential Functions and Tasks:


  • Develops automation scripts/code that reduces manual labor and human error. Applies knowledge of automation and process improvement to the organization’s systems. Develops solutions in partnership with key stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with application product owners and other departments within the credit union to identify and implement new solutions.
  • Configures and customizes the ServiceNow modules, workflows, forms, and reports based on organizational needs.
  • Originates and develops analysis methods to determine reliability of components, equipment, and processes. Acquires and analyzes data.
  • Maintains and optimizes the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) within ServiceNow ensuring Configuration Items (CIs) are maintained.
  • Design and implement integrations from business applications with other systems as needed.
  • Prepares diagrams, charts, drawings, calculations, and reports to define reliability problems and make recommendations for improvements. Conducts analysis of reliability problems and investigates to determine the required reliability approach for a particular situation.
  • Understands user requirements for core software system process improvements and implements changes and workflows to meet those requirements.
  • Understands the abilities and limitations of the core software system transactional and reporting systems to provide insights and recommendations toward problem resolution and gaining efficiencies.
  • Develops solutions for either new or existing operational processes or procedures that need to be initially developed and implemented or improved. Assists others in root cause failure analysis to avoid future failures.
  • Works closely with other Technology Services Teams on implementing the latest standards in automation and data reporting systems.
  • Monitors and maintains organization’s automation engine and nightly batch processing.
  • Ensures correct and timely sending of data transmissions to and from outside data processing service vendors.
  • Gathers and examines basic reliability data from field studies or database and correlates the data for analysis using well-defined engineering techniques, principles, and procedures.
  • Assists with the testing of new programs for completeness and accuracy.
  • Provides technical and back up support to the Application Reliability Team in problem solving and new service modifications.
  • Operates data capture technology to import digitized documents into document management system.
  • Assists with upgrades, testing, and general maintenance of database driven systems used throughout the credit union.
  • Works with vendors in a collaborative manner to resolve issues and bring about product enhancements.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:


  • High school graduate or GED.
  • Four (4) years of experience in an applications support role or similar automation role.

Education and Experience Preferred:


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
  • Proficiency in applicable programming and scripting language.

Demonstrated Abilities:


  • Familiarity with various query languages.
  • Understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices with the ability to conduct research into database issues, standards, and products.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) framework and its application in ITSM Tools.
  • Experience in system integration, utilizing REST/SOAP APIs and middleware platforms to connect ServiceNow with other enterprise systems.
  • Ability to present ideas in a user-friendly language with a strong customer service orientation.
  • Good interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills with strong technical documentation skills.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

This position is eligible for Full-Time Regular benefits. Employees and their eligible family members have access to a wide array of employee benefits, such as medical, dental, vision and life insurance coverage. Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance is paid at a 100% by company for the employee coverage. We also offer Health Care FSA (HCFSA) and Day Care FSA (DCFSA). Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our 401k plan. Full-Time Regular employees accrue 8 hours of vacation and 8 hours of sick leave, on a monthly basis.

Full-Time Regular hired employees also receive 11 paid holidays throughout the calendar year, 1 floating holiday, 16 hours of self-care time, and 16 hours of volunteer time.All benefits except 401k start the first of the month after 30 days of employment. Employees become eligible to contribute to 401k on the first of the month following 60 days of employment.
