Fibre Designer Team Leader

Hybrid working operating from our Droitwich office.

• Previous experience with designing fibre networks is essential.• Proficient user of excel – able to do VLOOKUP’s.• Key skills in using a GIS platform (e.g. ESRI, QGIS) and producing high quality plans (HLDs, LLDs)• Openreach PIA and splicing is also essential. • Experience of supporting and managing teams and people management

• Set objectives, train new team members, and provide detailed information to managers to help with planning and forecasting.• Lead and manage a team of Fibre Designers and Surveyors• Support in processing design changes and working with the build teams in ensuring all build changes are made in a timely manner. • Support the planning, scheduling and resourcing of plans in accordance with milestone dates and deadlines. • Managing queries from design partners and review plans for technical and quality purposes.

• Ensure quality throughout the team focusing on consistency of approach and outputs. • Build strong relationships with partners and internal stakeholders. • Creating HLDs and LLDs (including splicing and cable packs) in line with guidance, systems and processes• Attend plan virtual walkthroughs of a design plan with PMs and surveyors, raising issues and able to take onboard any feedback and changes required. • Calculate Link Loss Calculations and create Splice packs and LLD documents (Excel)• GIS functions, create buffers and identify possible DLP areas when analysing UPRN data, create KMZs.• Grade UPRNs using the specification provided and identify backhaul solutions and cabinet locations.• Develop exceptional relationships both internally with Divisions and Senior Teams and external Partnerships.

• Agile, organised and able to adapt quickly to changes. • Experience of managing people previously would be advantageous. • Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple and changing priorities.• Experience of working with a wide range of stakeholders• Ability to multitask and work well under pressure in a fast paced and changing environment. • Can handle and maintain large datasets.• Enjoys continuous improvement and sharing best practice.• Exceptional Team player.
