We're currently looking for someone to join our team in the role of Product Designer III, reporting to the SVP of Product. This role involves understanding our customers and users, designing delightful experiences for them, and collaborating closely with our Product Management and Engineering teams to make those experiences available to them. We believe this is an exciting opportunity for someone who is excited to work at a fast-paced, dynamic start-up with a desire to jump in however necessary in order to provide the value of our solutions.

What You'll Do:


  • Work closely with internal teams, such as Customer Experience, Product Marketing, and Sales, to understand customer needs and come up with creative solutions.
  • Perform market and user research to understand customer and market pain points and identify critical opportunities to address.
  • Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes and present them to team members to get agreement on design direction while taking into consideration engineering effort to build.
  • Collaborate with other designers to refine design work.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to refine requirements.
  • Use metrics and qualitative data to help define success criteria and inform design decisions.
  • Document detailed interaction and UI specifications for engineering to build.
  • Testing products to ensure they are as specified, intuitive and useful for target users.
  • Other responsibilities as deemed vital by the business.

Required Skills & Experience:


  • Proficiency in Figma.
  • Experience throughout the design process from initial concepts to pixel-perfect mockups and specifications.
  • Experience in working with engineering during execution of projects and launching projects to users.
  • Excellent skills in verbal & written communication and presentations to internal and external audiences.

Preferred Skills & Experience:


  • 5+ years of UX/UI design experience working with SaaS product and engineering teams.
  • Experience with one or more of the following is a plus: visual design, information architecture, user research, prototyping, or agile methodologies.

How We Approach Compensation:


We strive for salary range transparency in our hiring process. This is a major step towards not only complying with state and local regulations where required, but also to make sure Skilljar is putting pay equity and DEIB top of mind during the hiring process. Base salary is only a part of the total rewards package - this role will also be eligible for a bonus based on company performance, and a new hire equity grant* in the form of stock options. Below are the base salary ranges for this role:Seattle, New York City, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, Portland, and Austin metro areas: $131,000 - $160,000Other Remote US (outside of SF Bay Area): $119,000 - $145,000Toronto, Canada: CAD $110,600 - CAD $135,500 *not eligible for equity grant.
