Job Description Summary:
The Market Access capability is of critical importance to Krystal Biotech with our goal being to achieve and maintain appropriate pricing and market access through propositions that deliver value to patients, health care systems, society and the company. The Market Access Director is expected to locally execute pricing and access strategies in coordination with the General Manager while contributing to the regional projects.The International Markets Access team is expected to work across four main domain areas: pricing, health economics, health policy shaping, and local market access execution. The candidate should bring a high-level of experience in at least one of these domains and must show a strong commitment and potential to develop and work across all domains. The Medical Director will be part of the French country leadership team and will report to the VP Market Access Europe.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that regional and country pricing and access strategies are of high quality and are fit for purpose for each country.
- Ensure that the appropriate value proposition is recognized in the “accès précoce” dossier.
- Based on insights, develop pricing & access strategy incorporating additional evidence needs, value proposition beyond the drug, managed entry schemes and other agreements to ensure mutual value.
- In collaboration with country General Manager, lead and own the local pricing & reimbursement processes in individual markets
- Ensure that global evidence plans meet local country needs, or supplement with tailored strategies for each market
- Support development of health economic and outcomes analyses (CEA, BIA, burden of disease, etc.) required for access, working in collaboration with global and regional access teams as well as medical affairs
- Proactively identify evidence requirements for successful access in International Markets region, with specific focus to France and Belgium and support creation of program-specific evidence generation plans
- Ensure evidence synthesis activities (systematic reviews, indirect comparisons, dossier development, etc.) are performed to optimally meet payer needs across International Markets, with a specific focus to France to support successful product positioning
- Lead P&R process in France and negotiate with CEPS as well as take a leading role for the P&R process in Belgium
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that investments in services and treatment pathway interventions are valued by payers
- Secure that the appropriate coding and funding mechanisms are in place to enable above services and treatment pathways interventions.
- Leverage science and product data effectively and convincing
- Support the execution of broader market access goals, including pricing targets, revenue targets, access timelines, and overall launch success
Qualifications and other requirements:
- Master's degree, MBA or PhD in science and/or economics preferred
- Strong experience in pricing and reimbursement across Europe with specific knowledge of the French market (additional markets knowledge would be an advantage)
- Demonstrated experience supporting the regional launch of innovative therapies; rare disease experience is a plus
- Hands-on experience with country pricing negotiations; demonstrated knowledge of pricing trends, tactics, and European payer dynamics, strong negotiation skills
- Demonstrated knowledge in at least one of the core market access domains (pricing, HEOR, policy, local market execution) and capable of leading P&R in additional countries
- Experience and proven success working with cross-functional teams across geographies
- Demonstrated success in managing multiple activities (both “self” and through delegation) and working in a fast-paced environment
- Fluency in both written and oral English and French is essential
- Excellent ability to see the ‘bigger picture’ in market access and work across domains
- Ability to manage ambiguity, frequent change and senior level engagements; Ability to confidently seek out help when needed
- Strong strategic, tactical and operational skills and ability and willingness to switch between strategic and operational level of working
