CNC Machinist to join their facility in Bend, OR. This company This company is a precision machine shop and manufacturing facility specializing in CNC Machining, Fabrication and Assembly for a wide range of industries including Aerospace, Electronics, Medical Equipment, and Industrial Manufacturing. This position is Contract to Hire with an expected duration of 6 months.While on contract with

Primary Function:
The CNC Machinist is primarily responsible for safely and efficiently setting up and operating CNC Mills and Lathes to produce high quality products per drawing specifications and written instructions.
Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:
- Responsible for operation, loading and unloading material and parts, verifying programs, operating controls, setting offsets, deburring and inspection of parts for conformance to documented requirements.
- Studies and interprets drawings, manuals, specifications, sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished products, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
- Ensure production rates are met.
- Detects equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjusts machines within capabilities, controls or control media as required to ensure quality of production. Reports all machine malfunctions to Management.
- Communicates with Management, Production Control, Quality, and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.
- Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean, orderly, and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
- Suggest and implement improvements.
- Communicates all production-related concerns to the Shift Supervisor.
- Completes all required safety procedures prior to and during operations.
- May perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Education and Experience:
(Knowledge, skills, & abilities)
- Candidates will be required to set up and run complex machined parts on various CNC mills and lathes with limited supervision.
- 3-5 years setting up and operating CNC mills and Lathe required.
- Familiarity with Okuma, Makino and Fanuc machines and controls preferred.
- Manual Machining experience preferred.
- Forklift experience a plus.
- Must possess strong math skills, including but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry and trigonometry.
- Understanding of blueprint reading/geometric tolerance interpretation.
- Basic understanding of Geometric Tolerancing
- Knowledge of the use of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments. Instruments should include but not limited to calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gauges, indicators, and scales.
- Pass a post-offer background and drug screen.
Work Environment:
Standard machine shop environment with various types of machinery. Appropriate safety garments (PPE) must be worn. Must be able to stand and work as long as 12 hours in different positions. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
