Job Description


We are seeking a versatile and highly motivated Software Field Applications Engineer (FAE) to provide first-level support for our customers across the full software stack, from the applications layer down to embedded firmware. This individual will be passionate about learning and becoming an expert on our existing products, while also contributing to sustaining them. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and technical writing skills, and be eager to create application-specific demonstrations to showcase the uniqueness of our solutions.Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Support and Engagement:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customer inquiries and technical support related to our software stack.
  • Provide hands-on assistance to customers, troubleshooting issues, and guiding them through problem resolution.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams to escalate and resolve more complex issues.

  • Technical Expertise and Learning:

  • Continuously learn and stay updated on our lidar technology, software stack, and product features.
  • Develop deep expertise in existing products to provide effective support and sustainment.

  • Documentation and Knowledge Base:

  • Create and update technical documentation, including user guides, FAQs, and troubleshooting articles.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the company's knowledge base.

  • Demonstrations and Applications:

  • Work hands-on with lidar sensors to create application-specific demonstrations.
  • Develop demos and prototypes to highlight the unique features and advantages of our solutions.
  • Present technical demonstrations to customers, showcasing product capabilities and use cases.

  • Communication and Collaboration:

  • Communicate effectively with customers, understanding their needs and providing clear, concise support.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware and software engineering, to ensure comprehensive support.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical support or field applications engineering role.
  • Strong technical background with experience in software development, embedded systems, and firmware.
  • Proficiency with programming languages (e.g., C, C++, Python) and software tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for continuous learning.
  • Exceptional communication and technical writing skills.
  • Hands-on experience with lidar technology or sensors is highly desirable.
  • Ability to create and present technical demonstrations and prototypes.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites or industry events.

Additional Information


Base salary range is $108,000 to $120,000(CAD) + Performance based Quarterly Bonus + Equity depending on experience.
