Job Summary
Newberry Group seeks an Elastic Engineer to support their DISA client. This role is a full-time position, on-site in Ford Island, Hawaii. This position requires an active Top Secret clearance or above, and a DoD 8570 IAT level II or higher certification such as CompTIA Security+ CE, ISC2 SSCP, SANS GSEC prior to starting.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Working with the team to design, document, build, secure, and maintain Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana (ELK Stack) Enterprise solutions deployed in the cloud to support non-production and production deployments
- Working closely with architects, engineers, and integrators to assess customer requirements and to design and support an ELK Stack solution to ensure compliance with dashboard data requirements
- Follow life cycle processes to move solutions from Dev to Test to Pre-Staging to Production
- Documenting the installation and configuration for deployment into production
- Securing the solution by being familiarity with TLS, certificates, SSO/PIV authentication, and encryption technologies
- Developing and applying quantitative and qualitative analytic methods to identify, collect, process and analyze large data sets for specified purposes
- Working with the data lifecycle management
- Testing data flows, troubleshooting issues, and monitoring the health of the solution and servers to maximize performance and minimize downtime
- Participating in group sessions as well as attend and share in agile meetings to track progress to ensure development of solutions is in support of the DISA CSSP program and customer requirements
- Serving as a trusted advisor, providing subject matter expertise, guidance, and best practice recommendations
Basic Qualifications and Skills Required
- Must have an active DoD Top Secret clearance.
- Bachelor’s Degree and 4+ years of related experience; cyber courses/certifications or DISA customer experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- DoD-8570 IAT Level II baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent).
- Must possess a CSSP-Analyst certification within 180 days of your start date.
- Experience supporting and/or leading CND or related teams.
- Experience working CND duties (e.g., Protect, Defend, Respond, and Sustain).
- Experience working with DoD / Government Leaders at all levels.
Preferred Qualifications:
- IAM Level III Certification (GSLC, CISM, CISSP).
- At least one other IA certification completed, i.e., SSCP, CSIH, GCIA, GCIH or CEH.
- UNIX Administrative skills.
- Command Line Scripting skills (PERL, python, shell scripting) to automate analysis task.
- Knowledge of hacker tactics, techniques and procedures (TTP).
- Demonstrated hands on experience with various static and dynamic malware analysis tools
- Knowledge of advanced threat actor tactics, techniques and procedures (TTP)
- Understanding of software exploits.
- Analyze packed and obfuscated code.
- Comprehensive understanding of common Windows APIs and ability.
