Links Global is recruiting for multiple Section 508 Compliance Support Specialists, including a lead position, possessing Section 508 compliance expertise and proficiency in working with a variety of Microsoft and Adobe software, Acrobat, InDesign, Premiere, and Captivate.
The position location is at a government office in Columbus, OH.Job Duties
- Provide Section 508 compliance and testing support on location at a federal government office to help the government meet requirements with websites, electronic documents, apps, and other digital properties.
- Support the government in embedding accessibility requirements into the government's systems and acquisition initiatives.
- Provide expert guidance and recommendations for accessibility best practices and standards.
- Support electronic document accessibility, including review and remediation with products such as PDF, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word documents.
- Develop, maintain, and improve job aids and other training material to support government staff with creating accessible ICT.
- Develop and maintain a paper trail of products tested and remediated.
- Support the government with Section 508 compliance administration and documentation, keeping up with laws and regulations, policies, techniques, software, and more, and advising the government.
- Use both manual and automated techniques.
- Actively participate in meetings required for current projects, team or work unit activities, and mandatory training.
- Provide oral reports and briefing materials to colleagues and supervisors when required.
- Provide recommendations that reflect clear knowledge and application of current web app and website design and development subject matter.
Qualification Requirements
- DHS certified (v5.0 or higher) Section 508 Trusted Tester.
- 2-3 years of experience performing Section 508 compliance testing.
- In-depth knowledge of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act
- Background in IT
- Understanding of ICT accessibility in the Federal Government
- Ability to support the government client in producing accessible documents and web material.
- Experience collaborating with web developers, web content specialists, and document creators.
- Knowledge of WCAG 2.0
- Proven history of performing accessibility assessments, audits, compliance monitoring and implementation of WCAG standards.
- Ability to assess and remediate ICT and electronic content for accessibility, including communications, presentations, applications, and websites.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to efficiently communicate deficiencies, problems, and areas needed for improvement.
- Job Requires a favorable Federal Suitability Investigation (Tier 3) and registration with selective service.
Position is anticipated for a 5-year term.Fringe Benefits included: Vacation, sick leave, Federal holidays, Medical and life insurance.The hourly wage for the Section 508 Specialist is based on $82,000 per year and includes fringe benefits.Apply through our application system.
