Quantum Space is looking for a Propulsion Engineer for the design of spacecraft propulsion systems at Quantum Space. In this hands-on role, you will lead spacecraft propulsion design from concept development through launch. You will work with a fast-paced and tight-knit team of engineers and scientists to truly change the future of space technology. RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
Design and draft a wide assortment of flight and test hardware and ground support equipment, including:
Fluid systems, including tubes, manifolds, valves, etc.
Thruster mounting and alignment systems
Propulsion demonstrator assemblies and required hardware
Generate, review, approve, and collaborate on designs of components and propulsion systems
Manage interfaces between the propulsion system and other spacecraft systems
Configure test and flight top-level assemblies
Evaluate technical risks, cross functional issues, and mitigation actions
Create content for design reviews, tests, and verification activities
Generate environmental test plans
Support manufacturing, I&T, and launch site operations
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of relevant design experience
Experienced generating part and assembly drawings
Proficient with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME y14.5
Knowledge of commercial, industry, and NASA specifications and standards
NICE-TO-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
Proficient managing large assemblies using Creo Parametric
Experienced generating part and assembly drawings with Creo Parametric
Experience with conceptual, detailed design and I&T phases of programs
Expertise designing for specific manufacturing processes
Familiarity with harnessing
Experience with model-based definition
