Position:
Automation Technician
Overview:
The THAAD Automation Technician will sustain and maintain multi-functional/multi-user information processing systems and peripheral equipment and auxiliary devices at the unit level.
Responsibilities:
- Installs, operates, and performs unit maintenance on multi-functional/multi-user information processing systems and peripheral equipment and auxiliary devices
- Performs input/output data control and bulk data storage operations
- Transfers data between information processing equipment and systems
- Troubleshoots automation equipment and systems to the degree required for isolation of malfunctions to specific hardware or software
- Restores equipment to operation by replacement of line replaceable unit; installs, operates, performs strapping, restrapping, Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services, and unit level maintenance on COMSEC devices
- Assists in the design, preparation, editing, and testing of computer programs; configures information processing equipment into required operating configurations
- Performs senior operator and systems administrator duties and unit level maintenance functions on assigned computer systems
- Compiles production report data and quality control information
- Assists less experienced soldiers in the installation, operation and maintenance of information processing equipment
- Troubleshoots software using established debugging procedures
- Supervises the deployment, installation, operation, and unit level maintenance of multi-functional/multi-user information processing systems
Minimum Qualifications:
- Active Secret Clearance
- Must demonstrate compliance with Army Regulations for Deployability to all Areas of Responsibility prior to start - to include the standards outlined in USCENTCOM Individual Protection and Individual Unit Depolyment Policy, MOD-17
- Ability to obtain and maintain Commercial Driver’s License
- Valid Passport
- Possession of/or ability to obtain and maintain either a CompTIA Security+ and A+ certification within 120 days of hire
- Willing to travel or deploy as called to any location with little to no prior notice
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current Commercial Driver’s License
- Previous deployment experience
- Previous experience with THAAD or similar air defense system
- PMCS experience
- Experience driving forklift
- Previous experience with COMSEC devices
- Possession of a current CompTIA Security+ and A+ certification
