Job Summary


We seek a Non-Destructive Test Equipment – Armor Inspection System (NDTE-AIS) Operator for a full-time, on-site position supporting the Marine Force Storage Command at Camp Lejeune, NC. The role of an NDTE Operator is not just about operating, supporting, and maintaining the NDTE-AIS ballistic plate scanner. It's also about collaborating with the Consolidated Storage Program PMO and the Government Logistics Management team to ensure that scanning the appropriate number of plates meets inventory requirements.

This teamwork is essential for the successful daily operations of the NDTE-AIS ballistic plate scanner.NDTE-AIS scanning is supported by a two-person team responsible for identifying scanned plates as serviceable, unserviceable, or quarantined and returning them to the CSP PMO or the Government LMS for issue, disposal, or holding. The team will consolidate and submit weekly or as-required reports to the CSP PMO. NDTE Operators play a significant role in maintaining the NDTE-AIS. You perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventive and corrective maintenance as required and conduct routine reviews of NDTE-AIS spare components. Your technical skills and competence in these tasks are crucial for the continued smooth functioning of the NDTE-AIS.

Responsibilities and Duties


  • Handle armor ballistic plates and utilize the NDTE system to scan for serviceability.
  • Affix proper labels to scanned plates to ensure accuracy and completed processing.
  • Perform routine preventative and corrective inspections and services to ensure continued operations. 
  • Assist in preparing/presenting briefings and presentation materials, as required.
  • Brief government managers, as required.
  • Skill in written and oral communications to present analysis and findings.
  • Ability to accomplish work with a modest level of independence while balancing competing priorities with short lead times.
  • Support government leadership in the execution of projects.

Minimum Education/Training/Certifications Required:


  • A 2-year degree in a relevant area is preferred (Business, Supply Chain/Logistics, Information Technology, Engineering, Radiology) and possess a minimum of 3 years of combined experience, or at least 6 years of experience in business management, information technology, or a similar field.
  • Prior military experience is desired, and supply/logistics experience is preferred (not mandatory).
  • Possess written and oral communication skills.
  • Possess excellent research, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • An intermediate level of proficiency with MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, IS REQUIRED.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects on tight deadlines and to prioritize appropriately.
  • Demonstrated the ability to work collaboratively to achieve objectives.
