Responsibilities
As a Biostatistician SME, you will assist and advise ARPA-H Program Managers on any and all technical and administrative tasks that further their research and development programs. Specific duties may include:
- Provide biostatistical review of research proposals and white papers to ensure adequate experimental design, sample size, and analysis approach.
- Translate complex statistical analyses and review into actionable guidance for program managers and research teams, facilitating their work in propelling ARPA-H initiatives forward.
- Identify and champion biostatistical methodologies and approaches with the potential to revolutionize ARPA-H programs, fostering a culture of innovation.
- Contribute scientific expertise to dialogues and presentations, enriching collective understanding of complex scientific challenges within ARPA-H.
- Provide policy or process recommendations based on analysis of data trends to achieve outcomes in alignment with ARPA-H mission.
- Forge effective collaboration within diverse ARPA-H teams, fostering a shared understanding of scientific opportunities and program goals.
- Convey complex scientific concepts clearly and succinctly to both technical and lay audiences.
- Actively engage in brainstorming sessions and problem-solving exercises to accelerate the success of ARPA-H initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Education and Experience
- PhD in Mathematics, Biostatistics, or related biomedical fields
- 7 years of related experience, including at least 4 years of research and development biostatistics experience
Basic Requirements
- Proven proficiency in understanding and application of biostatistics.
- Experience with the design and analysis of biomedical research and clinical trials.
- Evidence of conducting autonomous research, proficient data analysis, and articulate scientific report writing.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills; demonstrated capacity for detailed organization and synthesis of abstract and disparate information.
- Highly efficient and extremely detail-oriented.
- Demonstrated strength in oral, written, and professional communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize among multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to work independently and know when to seek assistance.
- Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
- Published, peer-reviewed articles in the field of STEM expertise.
