Cleared Embedded Engineer
Bestgate has an opportunity for an Embedded Engineer to join a visible, newly awarded Cyber effort! This is an exciting role where you will be instrumental in designing, developing, testing, and documenting software code for advanced cyber applications.
What You Will Be Doing:
In this dynamic role, you will design and develop software drivers and applications, while processing digital signals to create innovative solutions. You will work on client/server applications, analyze and implement both legacy and current processor technologies, and integrate various operating systems, architectures, and interfaces. Your coding expertise will be utilized to develop robust embedded software, using both Assembly and high-level programming languages. You will also reverse engineer software/code to enhance our cybersecurity capabilities.
As a vital team member, you will communicate the status of your work, collaborate closely with peers, and conduct thorough peer reviews of software to ensure the highest quality standards.
Required Skills:
- Three (3) years of experience in software and firmware design, development, and testing, including writing clear, concise, functioning, and fully commented code.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of expertise (e.g., Engineering, Physical Science, Computer Science, or Systems Engineering) from an accredited college or university.
- Proficiency in developing code using Assembly and high-level programming languages.
- Experience in developing embedded software and software drivers.
- Strong understanding of digital signal processing and client/server applications.
- Ability to analyze and implement legacy and current processor technology.
- Familiarity with operating systems, architectures, and interfaces.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey the status of work and collaborate with peers.
- Ability to conduct peer reviews of software.
- Required Security Clearance: TS/SCI w/Poly
Desired Skills:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field of expertise, which may be substituted for two (2) years of experience.
- Experience in reverse engineering software/code.
- Strong analytical skills for implementing complex systems.
- Additional four (4) years of experience in software and firmware design, development, and testing may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree.
- Familiarity with various programming languages and tools used in embedded systems development.
- Knowledge of current industry trends and technologies in embedded systems and cybersecurity.
