Job Summary:
The Integration Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing solutions that integrate our customers with their trading partners via the TradeCentric Gateway for the transmission of trade data involved in B2B e-commerce. Developing these solutions requires familiarity with web technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, HTTP, APIs, etc.), various data formats (JSON, cXML, X12 EDI), and back-end tech (PHP, MySQL). TradeCentric Integration Engineers are expected to be customer-facing, team players and key members of a high-performing environment.
They work collaboratively with Project Managers to create scalable and stable solutions for our customers and they enable the success of others around them by demonstrating integration and technical expertise. The ideal candidate thrives on variety and the opportunity to learn new skills and will have previous experience working in a software or integrations platform setting, where they have developed complex problem-solving skills. In addition, candidates must be comfortable engaging and interfacing with customers across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. A bias toward action, communication and collaboration is imperative for success in this role.
Essential Functions:
- Become a subject matter expert on the TradeCentric Platform and the proprietary framework we have developed for implementing our solutions
- Work in a fast-paced, global team environment and collaborate with project teams to solve complex customer problems
- Manage tasks for multiple projects and be capable of task switching between complex problems and projects multiple times per day
- Own your backlog of work, proactively communicate task statuses, and escalate issues with senior engineers and delivery team management as appropriate to ensure project success
- Must be capable of working independently with minimal guidance, and be comfortable asking clarifying questions of the team, and customers
- Work with the project management team to capture and define customer needs, requirements, and scope for customer delivery projects, with a bias toward efficiency and scalability
- Resolve issues that are identified through testing scenarios with customer projects, and respond to production support tickets, in collaboration with the Customer Support team
- Collaborate with internal product management and development teams on platform improvement opportunities and new product ideas
- Become a subject matter expert on a number of platforms and processes in the procurement industry
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications/Experience:
- 2 plus years of previous Integrations Engineering experience
- Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail
- Familiarity with parsing and manipulating data formats like JSON and XML
- Familiarity with transmission methods like sFTP, HTTPS, AS2, APIs, etc.
- Experience working with development productivity tools like JIRA, Trello, and Salesforce
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills, both internally and with customers
- Experience working with shared resources and distributed teams in a partial or full-time remote environment
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
- Experience in web application development and troubleshooting issues involving HTML/CSS/JS and APIs
- Procurement industry experience (Ariba, Coupa, Netsuite, Salesforce, etc.)
- Familiarity with the G Suite
