Overview:Are you self-driven, results-oriented, and able to juggle multiple priorities? Are you skilled at crafting clear communications? United Educators seeks to fill a newly-established role for an Underwriting Department Coordinator charged with providing organizational support to ensure the effective operation of the Underwriting Department. The successful candidate will have an inquisitive nature and enjoy investigation, organization, and finding ways to improve operations.Responsibilities:
- Plan, schedule and coordinate all Department meetings, including collecting agenda topics, and creating and distributing meeting materials and meeting minutes, employee celebrations and team events
- Schedule member/broker meetings and calls, including creation and distribution of meeting materials
- Coordinate department conference and professional membership registrations
- Manage new user onboarding, department organizational charts, and seating arrangements. Assist with new hire orientation and training
- Assist in gathering information to respond to requests from Accounting or outside auditors
- Coordinate the reception of Department visitors (g., greeting at entrance, guiding to designated meeting locations, coordinating catering, etc.)
- Prepare and distribute periodic reports of department metrics, productivity reporting and related workforce tracking
- Create, proofread, edit, and distribute department communications
- Identify opportunities to improve coordination across teams and departments
- Manage Underwriting Department contacts in Salesforce and SharePoint
- Coordinate and lead special projects as needed, conduct research activities as assigned, and provide general customer support
Requirements:
- 2-5 years’ experience as a Department Administrator, Office Manager or similar role
- Advanced expertise with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Strong comfort with technology and software applications
- Meticulous attention to detail; excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects and responsibilities, and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to understand moderately complex documents relating to insurance, underwriting, regulations, etc.
- Must be organized, and able to complete projects with limited supervision
