Hybrid (minimum of 2 days a week in Okemos office)We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) who will also take on Technical Analyst duties as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing, particularly with Java, REST services, and BDD/Cucumber frameworks. Exceptional verbal communication skills are essential for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Perform automated and manual testing for various applications
- Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Java
- Test REST services and APIs using Postman/Newman
- Write and execute SQL queries to validate backend data
- Implement BDD testing frameworks with Cucumber and Java
- Conduct manual and exploratory UI testing
- Collaborate with development teams to understand requirements and provide testing support
- Take on Technical Analyst duties, including requirement analysis and providing technical support, as needed
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure clarity of requirements and deliverables
Required Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Java, particularly for testing purposes
- Experience with REST services testing
- Proficient in using Postman/Newman for API testing
- Solid understanding of SQL and experience with database testing
- Hands-on experience with BDD frameworks, especially Cucumber with Java
- Expertise in manual and exploratory UI testing
- Exceptional verbal communication skills
