Market Intelligence Director
Member of the Market Intelligence Team Reports to: SVP, Strategic Services Status: Regular Full Time, Exempt Love & Company, based in Frederick, Maryland, is a national leader in senior living marketing, research, branding, advertising, and sales management. Position Overview This is a versatile position that has the ability to impact Love & Company’s performance in many ways. The individual in this role is a key member of the market intelligence team and provides assistance as needed to complete market intelligence projects.
(This is the primary source of billable hours for the position.) Core job description responsibilities include conducting market feasibility studies, pricing and positioning analysis, and consumer research. Beyond client work, the market intelligence director also helps position Love & Company for success in its business development efforts. This includes participating in research and completing thought leadership initiatives (blogs, webinars, presentations), identifying and developing new market intelligence tools, and helping to plan and scope new market intelligence projects. This position is eligible to be a remote role or hybrid role position based out of Frederick, MD. Primary Responsibilities
Work as a member of the market intelligence team to complete market intelligence projects, including”
Market feasibility studies to understand the need for additional independent living, assisted living, and memory care within a market area
Competitive positioning and pricing analysis to evaluate how a community compares to key competitors
Consumer research studies based on key client objectives
Support the creation, development, and testing of new market intelligence services and tools.
Support the business development team in scoping for MI and strategic services projects.
Support Love & Company with additional special projects as needed.
Detailed Responsibilities
Work as a member of the market intelligence team to complete market intelligence projects, including taking the lead role in conducting market and competitive pricing analyses
Help plan and gather background information for market intelligence projects
Work with the market intelligence team to plan and monitor over all workload, determining the areas in which you can provide the greatest assistance to complete projects. This could include:
Developing primary market areas for market studies
Compiling and analyzing data
Conducting/assisting with field work as needed, including completion of our proprietary community scorecard
Developing materials needed to support market intelligence efforts, such as surveys, moderator’s guides, and presentations for community preview events
Writing market intelligence reports
Lead the planning and completion of competitive pricing analyses, including reviewing and analyzing all data and writing the report; this will also include developing detailed pricing recommendations and pricing models for clients, when appropriate
Participate in the development of proposals and presentations for new market intelligence opportunities
Meet with the business development team to review potential client's needs and objectives
Develop recommended research approaches, and assist in the development of scoping and production estimates
Write the approach portion of market intelligence proposals
Develop the market intelligence portion of presentations
Support the creation, development, and testing of new market intelligence services and tools
Assist with the ongoing fine-tuning and enhancement of existing market intelligence tools, worksheets, and reports
Work with the SVP, Strategic Services to identify and develop additional market intelligence services and the tools that will be needed to implement them
Depending on the experience of the individual, it may also involve providing development advisory services to organizations planning startup communities and/or expansions
Work with the President, SVP of Strategic Services, and other team members to help develop:
Residence size and mix recommendations
Pricing and contract recommendations
Service and amenity recommendations
Update the program recommendations as the development plans progress
Provide other competitive and market analysis support as needed
Contribute to the firm’s thought leadership position in the senior living field
Support the firm’s proprietary research projects
Support Love & Company with additional special projects as needed
Qualifications The individual should have the following experience and capabilities:
Five to seven years of market research and data analysis experience
Excellent writing skills; command of language, grammar, and spelling; dedication to error-free work and communications
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Basic knowledge of Macintosh computers is helpful
Ability to travel overnight when necessary
