Accounts Receivable Lead
to prepare complex invoices and account reconciliations for government, commercial, and inter-company clients on Cost Plus Fixed Fee, Time and Materials, and Fixed Price type projects with various task levels and requirements. This person will also review and approve a small Accounts Payable (AP) portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Accounts Receivable (AR) and Costpoint SME, providing guidance to team members on all aspects of Accounts Receivable.
- Review, analyze, research, and solve unbilled accounts receivable on a monthly and year end basis against standard Costpoint Financial reports.
- Review, certify, and post all accounts receivable activity each month.
- Monitor and coordinate the monthly closing ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Clear any pending/outstanding issues on the Aged Receivables.
- Prepare cash receipt offsets for any refund requests, penny differences, or invoice reversals/credits.
- Set up billing formulas, formats, billing levels, burden ceilings on sub-pools for all new projects/option years into the Costpoint system.
- Create new customers in Costpoint to prepare billings.
- Review contracts and modifications to understand contractual billing requirements.
- Work with Director/Project Managers to prepare yearly or final financial reports for grants.
- Provide Reporting and Metrics to the Accounting Manager, Controller, and CFO.
- Assist with audits by providing requested samples to auditors and answering regular questions deriving from the audit process.
- Meet with internal clients to answer questions related to AP and AR while providing excellent customer service.
- Supports the Accounting team in developing and delivering training to staff related to AP and AR.
- Provide surge support and backup for Accounts Payable (AP), as necessary, and owning a small AP portfolio.
- Ensure processes are documented and updated as changes are implemented.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience.
- Must have at least 5-7 years of related experience in billing and/or AR (billing is strongly preferred).
- Must have experience with Deltek Costpoint.
- Experience working with all government contract types (Cost Plus, T&M, FFP, etc.).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Knowledge of billing and revenue cycles.
- Proven planning and organizational skills.
- Superior analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Superb Customer Service.
- Ability to work independently, setting priorities and managing multiple tasks while maintaining an elevated level of efficiency and accuracy.
- Flexible with the ability to quickly adjust to changing priorities.
