About the role:
As a Senior Software Engineer at Nirvana, you will be pivotal in sculpting the foundation of our insurance platforms from the ground up. Collaborating closely with a dynamic team, including industry experts from Hiscox, AIG, and more, you'll lead the development of new products and optimize existing systems to scale seamlessly.Key Projects/Deliverables:
Drive integration of advanced technology to enhance system performance and facilitate better customer interactions.
Lead design decisions and development projects, with readiness to handle front-end and other tasks when necessary.
Innovate and implement AI-driven solutions to refine our underwriting, focusing on scalability.
Mentor and guide a team dedicated to innovating the commercial insurance landscape.
Career Progression:This role challenges your technical skills and develops your leadership capabilities. With performance and dedication, moving to a Tech Lead role or other senior technical positions within technology or product management is well within reach.
What you’ll do:
Spearhead the integration of AI technologies to boost the automation and efficiency of Insurance processes ex: Underwriting.
Identify and resolve bottlenecks to enhance system scalability and performance, ensuring robustness as business demands grow.
Collaborate with teams across the organization to align technology solutions with business objectives, ensuring product relevance and effectiveness.
Guide and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation within the team.
About you:
5+ years of experience in system design and software development, with a strong preference for backgrounds in insurance, or related high-stakes services industries.
Demonstrated expertise in leading large-scale projects, ideally involving both backend and front-end development, and preferably with exposure to AI technologies.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a track record of handling high-pressure situations in a fast-paced environment.
A proactive approach, seeking out new learning opportunities, and taking on leadership roles within project teams.
Hands-on experience with a strong bias for action, known for directly tackling technical challenges and driving projects to completion.
A resilient character, capable of owning both successes and setbacks, constantly striving for improvement.
Adapts quickly to the fast-paced and often ambiguous environments typical of high-growth startups, skilled in navigating challenges related to scalability and rapid growth.
