JOB SUMMARY


The Director of Demand Generation is responsible for the strategy and execution of marketing programs that ultimately drives the marketing contribution to pipeline. These programs include outreach, lead generation, optimization and analysis through a variety of sources and channels. This role is responsible for the measurement of the marketing programs as well as the underlying marketing operations (i.e. system set up, optimization and performance) to operate the marketing programs. The Director of Demand Generation leads a centralized resource for agile planning and process mapping for the overall marketing team.


PEOPLE LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY:


  • Performs all core people leadership functions including hiring, training, mentoring, providing guidance/feedback and performance management of the team.
  • Management responsibility includes working with agencies, third party vendors, writers, researchers or analysts as an extension of the team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES  


  • Develop and optimize the campaign, program and channel strategies to deliver the key performance objectives, i.e. leads, MQL, SQLs
  • Create, develop and manage web sites (HL.com, Thrive, Vanilla) to drive awareness and lead generation.
  • Define timing, activities, and budget / spend plans by channel and manage channel specific forecasts according to the execution.
  • Improve operational processes, systems and reporting related to demand gen programs and channels, including web site.,
  • Runs the marketing agile process for the department.
  • Conduct all business in accordance with Higher Logic policies and procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:


  • Experience in developing, executing, measuring innovative and results-focused campaigns
  • Analytical, specifically around program ROI, paid media buying & results, and overall program measurement
  • Ability to understand the fundamentals of the martech stack at the foundation of demand gen and digital marketing, i.e. Marketing automation, CRM
  • Paid media experience with Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, ad networks, ABM as well reporting measurements
  • Agile process and implementation

EXPERIENCE DESIRED:


  • Previous experience of 7-10 years in demand gen and 5+ years in a people leader role.
  • Experience in demand generation with B2B SaaS organization
  • Strong project management skills and experience with details
  • Knowledge with, including hands-on experience, with marketing and sales automation systems, specifically Marketo and Salesforce.
  • Typically has at least eleven years of experience, or nine years and a degree.
