Job Summary
As Veo’s VP of Operations, you will be responsible for the entire operations function of the business. You will lead a large, talented, and highly-distributed team to solve the most complex operations challenges in micromobility industry. Your goal is to achieve financial targets (revenue, and profitability), build world-class teams, and deliver the best possible experience to our riders. You will join the leadership team and work closely with the founders.
Responsibilities:
- Own the operations functions of the business and report directly to the President & co-founder
- Responsible for delivering key financials targets and operations OKRs:
- Manage P&L across all markets
- Identify problems, build plans and drive implementation to improve revenue and profitability
- Develop and own operations KPIs, including fleet uptime, labor productivity, etc; make data-driven decisions to drive continuous improvement
- Build and lead teams:
- Lead market operations (GMs, OMs, field teams), central operations (fleet health, efficiency, compliance, launch), business operations (vendors management, warehouses and vans, safety, procurement) teams
- Set day-to-day priorities and ownership for the teams; hold the teams accountable for delivering the results
- Own quarterly budget, plan resources, own the decisions of change management in the team
- Build fundamentals for scale:
- Drive new initiatives and drive improvement in system & tools to make operations as efficient as possible
- Create structures and processes to ensure effective collaborations between teams
- Set clear strategy and direction for scale / remove bottlenecks
- Work closely with engineering, finance, HR, partnership, and supply chain team to deliver company objectives and key initiatives
- Travel frequently to local markets
- Develop close relationship with front-line workers
- Shape the strategy for Veo as a core member of Veo’s leadership team
Requirement:
- B.S/M.S in Management, Logistics, Engineering, or related field/MBA is a plus
- 15+ years experience in operations management, business consulting or related field in a fast-paced, operations focused environment
- Proven track record in managing large teams in complex environments
- Experience working in startups; know how to operate effectively with lean resources, changing priorities, and ambiguity
- Ability to think strategically and also act practically
- An operational leader with a bias for execution who seeks to identify and drive improvements at all levels
- Must be data-driven / make data-driven decisions, and know how to use data to tell the good story
- Willingness to get hands dirty and travel up to 40% of the time

The base salary range for this full-time position is $230,000 - $280,000 + Annual Profit Share Bonus + Equity (Stock Options) + Full Range of Benefits. Veo is a total compensation company, and pay is determined by geographic cost of labor and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training - so not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Our total compensation package for this role, including bonus potential, ranges from $255,000 to $335,000 per year.
While this is our expected range, bonuses for this role are designed to have unlimited upside potential, so additional earning opportunities may be available. Note: Veo benefit, bonus and stock programs may be subject to eligibility requirements and other terms of the applicable plan or program. The listed range is a good faith estimate, and exact compensation and total package may vary depending on market conditions and performance.
