It’s an exciting time to become a key member of our growing team.The Director, Technology and Security reports to, and is responsible for, working closely with the Chief Information and Technology Officer (CITO) to ensure smooth and efficient global operation of the Cayuse SaaS platform, internal IT, internal operations (to include internal project management), and technical security. This includes the management of the SRE, DevSecOps, Corporate IT, and Technical Security teams. The Director, Technology and Security will also have the responsibility of assisting with the integration of the Cayuse strategic plan, in relation to the internal and externally facing technology function.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the organization’s SRE (hosting infrastructure), Corporate IT, DevOps and Security teams. This involves leading and building teams utilizing Agile principles and providing inspiring leadership.
- Establish and maintain a remote-first Corporate IT environment that allows for productivity, collaboration, flexibility and continued growth at Cayuse.
- Own the overall SaaS hosting platform and operations, which involves collaborating with technical leadership, engineering, product, sales, delivery/implementation, and business stakeholders to augment cloud solutions that will meet operational goals for business continuity, availability, reliability, performance, stability, security, cost efficiency, and customer experience.
- Drive operational excellence, structure, and PM standards to ensure consistent delivery and execution on internal projects.
- Design cloud operational OKRs that align with business goals and milestones and provide oversight and active monitoring to ensure they are achieved.
- Set strategy and develop project plans for teams aimed towards reducing the operational overhead of keeping Cayuse applications healthy, secure, and available for our customers.
- Lead and facilitate operational workgroups intended to design and implement lean, sustainable, and reliable operational processes.
- Drive service reliability by developing methodology around metric visibility using SLOs and SLAs.
- Build and implement incident management – alerting, triage, run books, postmortem and RCA.
- Lead and focus teams on root cause analysis, pattern identification, and continuous improvement in order to optimize application performance, resilience and reliability.
- Ensure appropriate policies and common processes are up-to-date and actively followed throughout IT operations, and the cloud environment.
- Strong knowledge of ITIL and ITSM standards, and how to operationalize them in IT operations.
- Lead the change management process, as it relates to the cloud environment, and remediate vulnerabilities on an agreed upon schedule.
- Assist CITO in developing and managing the Cayuse security program to include governance, risk, and compliance
- Lead implementation and on-going management and maintenance of required security controls and tools
- Manage the Cayuse security cadence including, but not limited to, user access reviews, log reviews, assisting with tabletop exercises, security awareness training, and other related items and ensure appropriate evidence is captured for on-going compliance audits
- Identify, evaluate, report on, and mitigate information security risks in a manner that meets internal, compliance and regulatory requirements, and responding to incidents that may occur
- Develops and delivers IS security standards, best practices, architecture and systems to ensure information system security across the enterprise
- Participate in customer calls, webinars, and other related events as Cayuse’s SME on the IT and operations environment.
Qualifications
- 10+ years overall experience in IT and operations with a minimum of 3 years’ experience leading DevSecOps, SRE, Corporate IT and/or Security functions.
- Experience with Change, Capacity, and Configuration management
- Understanding of driving internal operations and process improvement
- Solid understanding of technical security and vulnerability remediation in a globally dispersed operating environment
- Strong understanding of modern cloud-native architecture and applications performance on AWS or other cloud providers.
- Experience with building/deploying/scaling/managing distributed systems on AWS (or comparable hosting model) at an enterprise and/or global level, preferably with a SaaS organization.
- Demonstrated experience in identifying, leading, and managing projects
- Experience with network and endpoint security solutions (firewalls, VPNs, AVs etc.).
- Demonstrated experience engaging and motivating a diverse team in a remote first environment.
- Exceptional communication skills and experience working with cross functional global teams.
