The Centralized Services Engineer 2 is responsible for monitoring and maintaining various aspects within the Network Operations Center including network connectivity and performance, alerts and other notifications, backups, patches and releases and change management. The CS Engineer 2’s role is to address NOC related tasks including patch remediation, firmware updates, and vulnerability remediation. This role may adapt procedures, operations, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment to meet needs of area of specialization; may work on non-routine tasks; resolves issues/makes working decisions within area of specialization or responsibility with minimal supervision.
This is a Swing shift role: (2nd) Shift - Sat - Wed; 3:30pm-12:30amEssential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Patch systems
- Review patch management reports and remediate problems
- Configure Patch Management
- Troubleshoot alert tickets generated from RMM and other utilities that are triggered
- Review backup reports and remediate issues
- Perform updates to ESXi Hosts
- Perform firmware updates to hosts, network equipment and storage devices
- Manage internal toolsets such as RMM (N-Central) and PSA (ConnectWise)
- Deploy toolsets to clients via RMM tool
- Deploy and reconcile cloud product licenses
- Configure monitoring of client environments through RMM tool
- Troubleshoot alert tickets generated from RMM and other utilities on the advantage board
- Keep clients’ systems patched and up to date
- Configure, monitor, and maintain client and internal backups such as server, workstations, and Microsoft 365
Professional Development
- Routinely take self-paced training in technologies relevant to the team
- Obtain industry certifications on a consistent basis
Administrative
- Enter all notes and time worked on the appropriate service ticket
- Enter time worked on each ticket daily
- Schedule managed client reviews or other on-site matters via scheduling calendar in ConnectWise
- Enter expenses on service tickets for any related credit card purchases and submit receipts daily
- Submit time sheets on a weekly basis, due by Saturdays at 12P
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years working in a technological role
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft technologies, Meraki, and VMWare technologies
- Strong knowledge of server and storage hardware
- Desire for continuous development of IT knowledge
- Ability to conduct technological analyses and research
- Ability to manage time
- Ability to work with minimal management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with backup technologies such as Veeam and Storagecraft
Language Skills
- Ability to communicate professionally, in English, both written and orally
