Job Summary
Our Advanced Engineering Team in Novi is looking for a Senior Power Electronics Design Engineer to join their team! This role will work closely with Sr. and Principal Engineers and Technical Fellows to develop Power Electronic used in our power conversion products. These products support battery technologies critical at Our Next Energy to fulfill our mission of longer range, better safety and improving our supply chain.
Responsibilities
- Independently develop circuit designs involving power, analog, digital and mixed signal functions
- Analyze your designs using math and simulation tools as needed and document output
- Perform WCCA to verify design capability vs. requirements
- Design and develop circuit schematics using Altium
- Assemble and troubleshoot your first article prototype circuits
- Develop test bench set up for design evaluation and characterization
- Provide supporting design documentation as needed (e.g. HSIS, characterization reports, Mathcad WCCA files, etc.)
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 3-7 years of experience in power electronics or similar skill
- Experience with SMPS designs and topologies
- Experience with resonant SMPS designs a plus
- Custom magnetics design experience highly desired
- Experience with high voltage (400v to 800v) highly desired
- Experience with battery technology is a plus.
- Experience with PCB Layout and Physical Design – Altium preferred
- FPGA design experience a plus
- Switching power supply design experience
