Position Overview:
Zaviant is looking for an entry-level data privacy and security professional to provide consulting services to its clients and to assist in the coordination of data privacy, security and third-party risk management consulting engagements.
Detailed Position Description:
1. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
a. Data Privacy and Security Compliance:
- Assist in ensuring compliance with data privacy and protection laws (such as GDPR or CCPA).
- Assist in implementing data privacy and security policies, procedures and help maintain records of data processing activities.
- Support the teams conducting security assessments and privacy impact assessments. Assist with the development of strategic roadmaps based on assessment findings.
- Interview key stakeholders for the development of data mappings and data inventory.
b. Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM):
- Assist in the evaluation of vendor security controls, regulatory compliance, contractual obligations, and identification of third-party risks.
- Assist in the creation and implementation of policies and procedures, standard contractual clauses, risk mitigation strategies and the ongoing due diligence of approved vendors.
c. Project Coordination:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to manage projects.
- Track project milestones, deadlines, budgets and deliverables.
- Work with clients to achieve project objectives and meet client’s expectations.
- Partner with internal team members to support and manage reporting requirements for clients.
- Other duties as necessary.
2. Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Business, Legal or a related discipline
- 1 - 3 years of experience focused on privacy or security audit, consulting, or an equivalent breadth of experience internships or coursework related to data privacy are beneficial. A professional reference from job or internship is helpful.
- Clear verbal and written communication
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to document processes and prepare reports.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Must have an entrepreneurial Spirit; embraces competition, a bias for action, a sense of urgency and puts client and team above self.
