Salary Range:
$85-95K on target annual earning ($60-70K base + uncapped monthly performance bonus) Location: Remote. Half of our team works in our headquarters in D.C. and the other half is remote, so if you wanted to be in D.C. 1-2 days a week, that would be great but not a must have.

Your Mission:
Your mission is to help us close more customers! You’ll do this by identifying and engaging with prospective customers who can benefit from our products and services to electrify their fleet and then hand them off to your fellow, senior sales colleagues to close. You’ll do this by leveraging our internal databases and creatively identifying your own approaches to surfacing these leads.

As a result of your time in this role, you leveraged your keen understanding of the fleet, sustainability, and clean energy sectors in which we operate to help close new clients. Your outreach efforts not only generated their excitement about our core and wrap-around services but also paved the way for meaningful conversations with our senior sales leaders that made them realize they needed to work with Inspiration! In the end, you contributed significantly to both our revenue growth and profitability. The bonus? You felt great that your work was instrumental in moving us closer to our goals of decarbonizing corporate fleets, helping to fight climate change, and making a ‘dent in the universe.’
What You’ll Be Responsible for In Your Role:
- Qualify leads and then cold call them or email them in hopes of turning them into an initial high-quality meeting with a new customer. Wow them with your first impression and what you share about our offerings.
- Manage and maintain a detailed and robust sales pipeline in our CRM of interested prospects that you cultivate and then warmly hand them off to your fellow, senior sales leaders who follow up with them.
- Leverage your personal networks, LinkedIn, cold calling and cold and warm emailing to schedule high-quality meetings where you’ll identify your prospect’s needs and suggest our best products and services for them. You’ll also handle inbound requests and help turn them into viable deals for us.
- As you learn what works and what doesn’t, write, refine, and collaborate with your teammates on email content, phone scripts, and LinkedIn messages to increase the effectiveness of your outbound sales activity. Partner with our lead gen team to identify our most effective sales techniques so you are constantly refining our lead gen playbook.
- Demonstrate you’re meeting your monthly and quarterly KPIs (e.g., meetings you’ve had each month) by ensuring your manager is aware of your progress against your goals.
Who You Are:
- You have a bachelor’s degree or at least 5 years of relevant work experience that includes exceeding your outbound sales goals
- You love to win and hate to lose. You are motivated by figuring out how to get someone to say “yes” even though you don’t know them. Your previous colleagues would say you’re highly entrepreneurial and motivated
- You work well both within prescribed structures (ex: updating all of your outreach in our CRM) and with ambiguity (figuring out on your own how to do what you're doing better to produce stronger results)
- You are probably extroverted because one of your passions (maybe it’s even your hobby?) is engaging with others. Others you’ve worked with say you are a ridiculously strong and persuasive communicator and prospects you’ve reached out to said they couldn’t help but to respond to your outreach
- You are a natural problem solver who, in past jobs, found creative ways to showcase your other employers’ offerings in a compelling way and got traction from doing so
- You are passionate about EVs and charging, and by learning fast and generating more leads than we’ve been able to before, you demonstrate you should be promoted quickly!
- You have or are willing to create a professional LinkedIn profile to search for and message sales prospects
- You are proficient with Microsoft Office – particularly in Outlook and Excel (but no fancy Excel skills needed)
