Position: Managing Director of Human Capital & OperationsReports To: Executive DirectorResponsibilities
- Lead CIPE’s Operations overseeing Human Resources, Information Technology and Security with the heads of each department reporting directly to the Managing Director of Operations.
- Drive the strategic design and execution of CIPE’s global HR, IT and Security priorities in line with the CIPE’s needs, culture, and values.
- Works with heads of departments across CIPE – regional directors, centers, and functional teams - to assess organizational needs for HR, IT and Security team support to ensure the department framework, strategy, staffing, and deliverables align with expectations.
- Serve as an integral member of the Senior Leadership Team to advise on issues impacting the organization as a whole.
- Collaborate with the Legal function to establish clear policies and procedures with consistent implementation across the organization.
- Provide oversite and expertise on organization’s global expansion and potential needs from an HR, Security and IT perspective.
Human Resources
- Manage the Director(s) of HR.
- Develop and implement a new team structure to best support organization’s priorities.
- Ensure adherence to HR compliance expectations.
- Lead the HR team through regular benchmarking cycles to analyze and assess market data, industry trends, and best practices to create market competitive reward packages and to identify potential opportunities and gaps.
- Focus on not just high quality recruitment but also retention as a goal.
- Build out enhanced international HR capabilities.
- Oversee HR’s administration of benefits and payroll management. Will include occasional but regular reviews of CIPE’s benefits program to ensure competitiveness and cost-effectiveness.
- Oversee HR’s administration of performance management
- Supervise the implementation of DEIB priorities.
- Collaborate with General Counsel to engage external legal support for HR operations.
Information Technology
- Manage the Director of IT and evaluate team structure and skills to best support the organization.
- Ensure adherence to IT compliance expectations.
- Oversee continued implementation of broad IT strategy to support CIPE’s international programs.
- Create plan for greater automation in conjunction with the Director of IT and key internal stakeholders.
Security
- Manage the Director of Security.
- Ensure adherence and alignment with compliance expectations and CIPE’s Duty of Care policy.
- Oversee the management of organizational risk, which includes general and business insurance policies.
- Ensure travel insurance and external support for in country and traveling staff aligns with needs of CIPE.
- With the Director of Security, Senior Leadership Team and key stakeholders, create growth strategy for Security team that will provide greater support for global operations.
- Work with Director of Security and key stakeholders to create more efficient use of the Security team in providing travel authorizations, advice, and support during security situations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a BA
- Ten to 15 years of experience in leadership roles, including significant oversight or performance of international and domestic HR
- Experience overseeing Security and Information Technology
- Experience in a complex multi-national nonprofit that has multiple programs
- Ability to manage, develop, mentor and leverage strengths of staff
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A strategic understanding of HR, Security, and IT compliance related issues to support operations globally
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; including board related communications and reporting
THE SALARY RANGE FOR THIS POSITION IS: $260,000-$280,000
