What we are looking for:
We are searching for a seasoned Security Engineer with the ability to mold the ongoing security culture of Forage. The ideal candidate will have multiple years of experience in the security field, with practical knowledge in both application and infrastructure security, and experience in securing cloud-based applications.Key attributes include strong communication skills to advocate for security needs while balancing business impact, the ability to operate independently, and proactively identify and address security issues.
While knowledge of the payments space and security best practices in payments processing is a plus, it is not required.You will collaborate closely with product engineering teams to design secure solutions, act as a security subject matter expert for both technical and non-technical audiences, and enhance Forage’s security through automation, tooling, and training. Your role also involves ensuring compliance with industry security standards, driving large cross-team projects to bolster security, and mentoring colleagues on security best practices.
Qualifications:
- Exhibit a strong understanding of CS fundamentals from your Bachelor's in CS, engineering, related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
- Multiple years of experience in security in industry
- Solid grasp of SOC2 and PCI requirements
- Strong communication skills to help advocate for security needs while balancing business impact
- Practical knowledge across application architecture and infrastructure security
- Demonstrated experience securing applications in a cloud environment
- Ability to operate independently and proactively find and surface issues to the wider engineering team
- Nice to have: A knowledge of payments space and security best practices surrounding payments processing
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with product engineering teams to design solutions that are secure by default
- Be a security subject matter expert for both technical and non-technical audience
- Make Forage more secure through automation, tooling and training
- Ensure Forage remains compliant with industry security standards and requirements
- Drive large cross-team projects to increase Forage’s security posture
- Mentor and advices coworkers on security
Our Offer:
As of 7/24/2024, if we hire you in San Francisco, your base salary would fall within the bands below. Please keep in mind that the equity and variable portion of your offer is not included in these numbers and represents a significant part of your total compensation.
