The Role:
Morning Consult is hiring an experienced FP&A Manager to support its financial reporting, planning and analysis. This position will partner closely with key business stakeholders across the organization and will guide company strategy with real-time forecasting and analytics.Success in the role requires advanced analytical skills in Excel as well as the ability to plan and prioritize projects independently. You should bring a point of view on modeling approaches, experience with modern planning tools and a collaborative, eager-to-learn mindset.
The FP&A Team at Morning Consult:
The FP&A team is responsible for all accounting and finance-related functions, from daily transactions to preparing annual US GAAP financial statements and building financial models. Our team’s goal is to ensure the financial health of the company and to provide critical information to stakeholders so that they can make decisions about the future of the company. You’ll work directly with our SVP, FP&A and CFO on a daily basis and have the opportunity to help shape the FP&A team’s culture.
What You’ll Be Working On:
- Working directly with company leadership to develop financial and operating goals and forecasts
- Delivering insightful management reporting including key business metrics, updated forecasts and financial analysis
- Providing ad-hoc business performance reporting, data analysis and financial modeling to help key stakeholders make strategic decisions
- Designing and delivering scalable automated user and financial dashboards and analytics for cross-departmental and executive consumption via finance platform
- Performing such other tasks and duties as may be required or assigned from time to time in the Company’s discretion
About You and What You’ve Done:
- 5+ years of Finance experience, ideally prior roles in Accounting or FP&A in a high-growth company
- BS/BA in Finance, Accounting or similar; CPA a plus
- Strong analytical abilities with both quantitative and qualitative data, including identifying key trends in data and reconciling data across various sources
- Ability to take an ambiguous concept/task and complete it effectively with minimal direction
- Self-starter able to drive processes across different teams and build relationships with business partners
- Advanced Excel skills; basic SQL skills a plus
- Willing to take feedback, learn and grow; an ethos of continuous self-improvement
