The world’s largest financial institutions from Wall Street to Silicon Valley will turn to you for products that provide unparalleled seamless, efficient and secure access to the cryptocurrency sector.FalconX is hiring a Staff Engineer in Blockchain Integration to help introduce a new, in-demand product line for the company that integrates seamlessly with our proprietary, best-in-class Prime Brokerage platform.

You will drive the implementation of critical blockchain infrastructure supporting all major chains and protocols. This implementation must be designed for ease of integration into the broader technology stack and demonstrate ease-of-use, operational efficiency, security, and stability. We are looking for an experienced Staff Engineer with a strong understanding of blockchain, cryptocurrencies, cryptography, and platforms to build upon our vision of an open financial system.

Responsibilities:


  • Build and maintain a blockchain processing system that can handle a very high throughput of transaction activity, optimizing for reliability and performance
  • Scale and operate robust, production-grade services to index and broadcast data within the various Blockchains including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and others
  • Integrate a variety of new blockchains into our stack, based on customer demand, including end-to-end support for wallet creation, address generation, send/receive functionality, and other features
  • Integrate Blockchain data and primitives into the rest of the Platform stack through repeatable and generalizable interfaces
  • Drive architectural design and implementation of Blockchain integration stack, across all major chains and protocols
  • Take ownership of technical aspects and ensure technology is designed and built around our customers’ needs
  • Provide Engineering leadership to the team through significant hands-on contributions, coaching, and mentoring
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering and Product leadership to plan, estimate, prioritize, and productize new products and features
  • Build and deliver against an aggressive product roadmap supporting strategic business initiatives
  • Rapidly iterate to add new, emerging functionality while ensuring the highest quality
  • Provide ongoing maintenance of the technology stack as it matures, ensuring highest reliability, impeccable performance, and ease of use
  • Provide timely support to customer issues and triage quickly and effectively

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Significant experience building robust backend services at scale, processing a high volume of requests
  • You have expertise writing production code in Java, TypeScript, Python, Rust, or equivalent
  • Excellent working knowledge of modern software development methodologies and software design patterns
  • You have experience shipping and maintaining multiple services in production with a large user base, supporting each through multiple years of iteration and growth
  • You have an understanding of UTXO and EVM-based blockchain technologies, and how to interact with their nodes at an API level
  • You have an understanding of the cryptographic algorithms underpinning Blockchain technology as well as the networking protocols
  • Familiarity with cryptographic signing algorithms, asymmetric cryptography, and key management a plus
  • A self-starter eager to explore, iterate, and contribute
  • Experience working with existing Blockchain-as-a-service stacks a plus

Base pay for this role is expected to be between $240,000 and $270,000 USD. This expected base pay range is based on information at the time this post was generated. This role will also be eligible for other forms of compensation such as a performance linked bonus, equity, and a competitive benefits package. Actual compensation for a successful candidate will be determined based on a number of factors such as skillset, experience, and qualifications.
