Job Description


We are looking for a Product Designer to join our growing design team. Our product designers take a product, feature, or experience from ideation to production. This includes vision setting, designing solutions, prototyping, bringing along cross-functional teams, overseeing implementation, and collaborating with other designers, researchers, writers, product managers, analysts, and engineers. For this role we are looking for a high-craft Staff level Product Designer to lead our music discovery efforts on our Streaming app.

In this role you will be responsible for driving forward both vision, strategy, and execution of our most visible surfaces on TIDAL Music, Home and Explore. You will report to the Head of Design

You Will:



  • Drive the strategy and position of your product area

  • Plan, scope, and create work that contributes to a larger, long-term plan

  • Communicate your ideas and work to your direct team and other teams

  • Drive execution of your product area in its entirety.

  • Work on challenging, wide-reaching projects for your team. 

  • Help define the design language of our streaming product

  • Scale your designs across multiple platforms and surfaces

  • Work closely with product managers and developers

Qualifications


You have:



  • 8+ years of professional design experience

  • A passion for turning complex problems into simple and engaging solutions

  • You are a high-craft designer, with impeccable attention to details and a deep understanding of color, space, and typography.

  • Experience in scaling your designs across multiple platforms and “working in systems” in your day to day.

  • Experience contributing to Design Systems.

  • Experience in articulating design visions and selling these visions to stakeholders and leadership.

  • An ability to drive your work and identify the most impactful opportunities in your product area.

  • A natural understanding of the end-to-end design process - from identifying customer needs, jobs-to-be-done and pain points to delivering exceptional customer experiences

  • You actively plan, scope, and create work that contributes to a larger, long-term plan

  • A portfolio of work on which you were the primary designer

  • Articulate high-level team goals and connect your work to larger team or company initiative

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. Zone A: USD $189,000 - USD $283,600 Zone B: USD $179,600 - USD $269,400 Zone C: USD $170,100 - USD $255,100 Zone D: USD $160,700 - USD $241,100To find a location’s zone designation, please refer to this resource.
