About the role
PayZen is seeking a savvy Data Engineer, based in the United States, for hybrid office work in Denver, Colorado, to develop and oversee scalable FinTech software solutions. You’ll be responsible for expanding and optimizing our data and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross functional teams. What you will do
- Be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data pipelines from different sources
- Collaborate with a broad forum of experts and stakeholders, including devops and engineers, to create high-quality deliverables
- Own the data development process end-to-end including methodology and maintenance
- Design our data pipeline architecture which collects, processes, streams and analyses very large amounts of data
- Identify the data needed for a business problem and implement queries and data pipes, while working with data infrastructure to triage issues and resolve
- Design and develop programs and tools to support data ingestion, curation and provisioning of complex enterprise data to achieve analytics & reporting on our fleet systems
What you bring
- 3+ years of experience working as a Data Engineer including ETL design, implementation, and maintenance
- 3+ years of experience with dimensional data modeling and data warehouse implementation
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary data team environment
- Deep practical hands-on experience in Cloud Data Services
- Experience in using Storage, Virtual Networks, Virtual Machines
- Experience using technologies such as Hadoop and Cloud Data Service
- An understanding of cloud fundamentals, such as Governance, Security & Monitoring
- Experience with Machine Learning will be a plus
- Knowledge of Kubernetes
- The ideal candidate will have a BSc in Computer Science\Information systems Engineering or similar field
- At least 2 years of experience working on Databases, Data warehouse, ETL and AWS platform is required
- Experienced in working in AWS related compute, storage, and processing (S3, Glue, Athena)Taking an analytic approach to problem solving, creative thinking
- Excellent written communication and verbal skills, as well as strong listening skills
- Self-motivated, able to take the initiative to solve problems
