Job Description


This position can sit in any of Block’s office locations and is eligible for full-time work from home/remote.Finance & Strategy is responsible for improving strategic, financial and operational decision-making across the company. This position will sit across Block’s business unit ecosystem and provide support to the Finance teams within Block. This position will interface with other Finance & Strategy team members to develop an intimate understanding of the overall business, as well as multiple different operating models. Insights are developed through frequent cross functional communication and coordination with our partners, and formulating how each of Block’s business units would operate as stand alone businesses.You will:


  • Contribute to recurring management/ Board of Directors reporting and monthly deliverables including P&L summaries, close slides, and business performance metrics.

  • Help guide the standardization of data and processes 

  • Drive F&S transformation initiatives including P&L reporting, management analytics & dashboards using SQL and visualization tools like Tableau to build trust and insights.

  • Partner and build key relationships across F&S, Business Transformation and other functional organizations across block 

  • Deliver communications on company-wide best practices that will create efficiencies for both finance team members and business partners

  • Drive the deployment and adoption of new tools and capabilities within F&S

Qualifications


You Have:


  • 3+ years experience working in Corporate Strategy/FP&A, or at a top tier Investment Banking or Consulting firm. We are looking for candidates that have worked in a high-growth environment, performing complex modeling and analysis

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or other relevant field

  • Experience with analytics tools (Hyperion/Oracle/SAP), SQL, and BI tools including Tableau and Looker.

  • Strong analytical skills and excellent proficiency in financial modeling (be prepared for a SQL-based case study) with effective communication skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • High level of intellectual curiosity, focus on generating results and having impact, deep interest in problem solving

  • Exceptional judgment and maturity, including an ability to execute independently and work with team members of all levels

  • Basic understanding of the payments industry and a commitment to Blocks purpose of Economic Empowerment

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. Zone A: USD $111,700 - USD $167,500 Zone B: USD $103,800 - USD $155,800 Zone C: USD $98,200 - USD $147,400 Zone D: USD $89,400 - USD $134,000To find a location’s zone designation, please refer to this resource.
