The International Commercialization Director will be the face of Eko’s hardware and software portfolio to strategic distributors in Europe, the Middle East, and East Asia (including Japan). The Director will build alignment across functions, organize teams in order to close gaps and meet market entry requirements, form relationships with distributors who can resell Eko’s products in-market, manage these relationships for success, set targets for international business, and hit (or beat) those targets. This person must be a strategic thinker, able to analyze local market dynamics, cross-functional requirements for market entry, and country sequencing and trade-offs. This person must also work well across functional areas, companies, and cultures, exuding both empathy and influence in order to shape and achieve desired outcomes. Finally, this person must be an owner, building a new portfolio of relationships from the ground-up and assuming responsibility for its expectations and results. The Director will report to the Vice President, Strategy and Corporate Development.
This is an individual contributor role, with potential for a people leader transition depending on the performance of the business line. The ideal candidate enjoys frequent international work travel and is willing to spend approximately 50% of their time abroad.
As a International Commercialization Director at Eko, You Will:
- Strategic management
- Own top-line results for international sales, set targets for quarterly and annual performance, and build plans to achieve them
- Work with company leadership to drive Eko’s go-to-market strategy for Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
- Understand regional and local market conditions, needs, and preferences
- Set and build alignment on geographic sequencing, distribution selection, localization requirements, and required go-to-market support to drive sell-through
- Distribution management
- Landscape and help select distributors in Europe, Middle East, and East Asia (including Japan) in order to sell Eko’s digital stethoscope and software solutions
- Negotiate and execute supporting contracts to enable distribution relationship
- Enable distributors to sell Eko’s products effectively, including conducting training, developing joint business plans, setting launch goals and run-rate volume targets, and providing ongoing marketing/enablement support
- Gain product expertise in order to represent Eko to partners, educate partners on Eko’s offerings, and serve as a first point-of-contact for a broad range of inquiries
- Internal planning
- Coordinate teams across regulatory, quality, supply chain, finance, legal, product/software, and sales in order to launch in new markets and deliver against international goals
- Balance team priorities with international needs in order to achieve shared goals
- Build subject-matter expertise on areas that require focused research in order to unlock international markets
- Collect feedback from international distributors and end-users and channel feedback into product roadmap and commercialization decisions
As a International Commercialization Director at Eko, You Have:
- 5-10 years of sales, global channel management, and/or distributor management in an international context, including at least two of Europe, Middle East, and East Asia (including Japan)
- Experience with market entry, relationship-building, and reseller contracting from the ground up
- Experience with cross-functional considerations and requirements for global sales for regulated medical device and software products
- Comfort working during European and Asian time zones
- Global mindset with the ability to work across cultures
- Willingness to travel internationally approximately 50% of the time
- Competency in one or more of the following languages: French, German, Italian, Greek, Arabic, Japanese
