We are seeking a Vice President of Business Analytics to lead our business analytics team at Academia.edu. The Business Analytics Team is not a service organization to product development; instead it is a team that is expected to help chart the direction of the company. Reporting directly to the Chief Product and Growth Officer, the VP of Analytics will be responsible for leading a team to ask the right questions of our vast data in order to drive insights and identify opportunities for innovation, fueling our business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide the analytics team to become an opportunity-finding group that identifies major opportunities using our data and helps determine what products and features we build next.
- Lead, mentor and inspire a highly talented team to uncover meaningful insights and opportunities.
- Help team members grow in their ability to ask the right questions, structure the right analyses, distill key insights, and come up with great recommendations on what to do next.
- Recruit and hire highly talented business analysts. This team is growing and will more than double within the next 12 months.
- Be a strategic advisor to the Chief Product Officer, the executive team, and the company in general.
- Identify data-driven strategies to optimize user engagement, retention, and monetization. Provide strategic guidance and recommendations based on data insights and market trends.
- Ensure that our data is easily accessible, usable and reliable
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience at McKinsey & Company, Bain & Company, Boston Consulting Group, Oliver Wyman, or LEK Consulting, ideally leading teams
- Experience leading and developing a high performing business analytics team at a B2C technology business (startup experience is a plus), with a focus on driving business impact and results
- A proven track record of identifying major insights that drive significant business impact
- Deep ability to separate the signal from the noise. An 80/20 thinker with a focus on results
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms, as well as influence and inspire cross-functional teams
$275,000 - $325,000 a yearThe salary will be based on a number of factor such as experience and background. Apply for this job
