This is a hybrid position-- candidates must be within commutable distance to Brilliant Corners' Los Angeles, San Francisco, or San Diego offices.
Compensation: $100,000- 115,000 per year, exempt

Organization Overview


Founded in 2004, Brilliant Corners provides innovative housing and housing-related services to those transitioning from or at risk of homelessness or institutionalization. We develop, own, and manage multi-family supportive housing and licensed residential care homes. Additionally, we implement a broad array of scattered-site, one-on-one supportive housing, and clinical case management programs through partnerships with developmental services, homeless services, veteran services, and health care sectors.  In short, we do good work.

Position Summary


The Associate Director, Data and Analytics will serve as a leader and thought partner within the Data and Technology Department and beyond. They will own enterprise data architecture, modeling, pipelines, analytics, and visualization. Ideal candidates will have strong experience partnering with business system managers and program leadership across a complex, dynamic, rapidly growing organization to develop and maintain a cohesive and meaningful data and analytics infrastructure.

Responsibilities


  • Facilitate the establishment and execution of a data delivery and management roadmap; including enterprise data warehousing, BI & analytics, and data management
  • Lead cross-functional projects to build, scale, and maintain an enterprise grade data infrastructure for fulfilling organization-wide reporting and analytics needs
  • Lead a team of data professionals, including recruiting, training, coaching, communicating job expectations, and appraising performance
  • Oversee the development, testing, implementation, documentation, and maintenance of data integrations, models, reporting systems, automations, dashboards, and performance metrics to support key business decisions and operations
  • Manage and optimize processes for data intake, validation, mining, and engineering as well as modeling, visualization, and communication deliverables
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracting, continuously right-sizing products and services to meet the needs of a dynamic and rapidly growing organization, including monitoring and optimizing costs of cloud data infrastructure
  • Collaborate with IT and Product Teams to plan, organize, control, and evaluate electronic data operations, including data security and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee the fulfillment of report and data requests from internal and external stakeholders; including request triage, scoping, prioritization, and delegation
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders to identify, scope, and prioritize data needs. Provide regular updates about projects and initiatives progress.
  • Ensure accuracy of data and deliverables with comprehensive policies, procedures, and quality assurance processes.
  • Ensure adherence to data and technical support SLAs to fulfill requests and accuracy of reports, dashboards and integration of data across systems
  • Consistently deliver an exceptional user experience across platforms and services.

Requirements


Professional Experience


  • Proven working experience as a data team manager in a low-code organization
  • Experience working in and/or supervising a distributed team.
  • Expertise in modern data engineering techniques and technologies, data mapping, and collecting data from multiple cloud-based data sources.
  • Experience working with and creating databases and dashboards using relevant data to inform decisions.
  • Experience managing projects: scope creep, expectations, deliverables, timelines, budget, etc.
  • Experience with designing and deploying data solutions with cloud platforms: Snowflake, Azure Synapse Analytics, etc.
  • Experience with data visualization tools: Tableau, PowerBI, etc.
  • Experience with data integration/transformation platforms and tools: Workato, Mulesoft, etc.
  • Experience with Salesforce products.
  • Previous experience working with protected health information, highly desirable.
  • Previous experience with ArcGIS, desirable.

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability


  • Strong programming skills with querying languages: SQL, SOQL etc.
  • Understands statistical techniques and their applications.
  • Proven ability to apply concepts of diversity, equity, and inclusion to both people and data management.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and delegation skills, working with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong problem solving, quantitative and analytical abilities.
  • Strong ability to plan and manage numerous processes, people, and projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and/or protected information with the utmost discretion.

Physical Requirements


Candidates should have physical mobility for tasks such as standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, twisting, and walking on uneven surfaces. They should be capable of performing stationary tasks like sitting for up to 6 to 8 hours a day.  Additionally, candidates should be able to lift, carry, push, pull light to moderate weights up to 15 pounds safely.
