Overview:


WiredPeople invites applicants to join our growing team as a Community Dental Health Coordinator to assist with Missouri's statewide program aimed at improving dental care for individuals with substance use disorders (SUD). The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of dental procedures, the MO HealthNet system, and experience in contract management. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential, along with the ability to travel across the state of Missouri as needed.

A Missouri candidate is preferred for the necessary travel. 

Responsibilities:


  • Design and implement a comprehensive dental health program targeting individuals with substance use disorders.
  • Collaborate with substance use disorder clinics, programs, and other relevant organizations to provide education and resources for obtaining dental care.
  • Develop educational materials and conduct training sessions for dentists on managing patients with substance use disorders.
  • Establish and oversee a program aimed at integrating dental care with substance use disorder clinics and programs.
  • Support and educate for the integration of dental health into substance use disorder treatment plans.
  • Educate and support clinics in understanding the importance of dental health in the context of substance use disorder recovery.
  • Ensure guidelines and contractual compliance are met by working in collaboration with the DHSS Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Grant Program Specialist.
  • Create, monitor, and execute contracts related to the program at the state level.
  • Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations and state regulations.
  • Work with external agencies to manage and distribute funding for dental care and tooth replacement for individuals with substance use disorders.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the Office of Dental Health and other agencies involved in the program for inquires and provide information on the program.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination among various stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the program.
  • Advocate for the needs of individuals with substance use disorders within the dental health community.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to the program.
  • Prepare reports and updates for senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Manage program budgets and financials in collaboration with the DHSS SUD Grant Program Specialist
  • Certificate program involves coursework in dental health education, community health advocacy and program management.
  • Travel across Missouri to meet with clinics, programs, and dental offices.
  • Conduct site visits to ensure program adherence and gather feedback for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:


  • Dental degree such as DDS, DMD or dental hygiene, or certified in dental assisting, or degree/experience in public health or related field.
  • In depth knowledge of dental procedures and protocols.
  • Familiarity with MOHealthNet system and state healthcare regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications / Skills:


  • Knowledge of substance use disorder.
  • Understanding of Missouri’s contracting process, including creation, monitoring and execution of state contracts.
  • Ability to track the individuals’ progress through the dental treatment plan.
  • Ability to plan, implement, administer, evaluate and modify a new dental health program.
