Control Department Mechanical Assembler
SUMMARY:
The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembly and wiring operations on a diversified line of mechanical assemblies. The position also contributes to the continued improvement of the manufacturing process by maintaining quality control and timely completions of assemblies.
FUNCTION:
· Complete orders in a timely manner and within budgeted hours.· Work with efficiency.· Provide superior workmanship in order to promote customer satisfaction and future business.· Reduce production costs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· High School Diploma or equivalent.· Basic knowledge of electrical principles. · Strong communications skills both written and verbal.· Possess a valid and legal driver’s license.· Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.· Welding knowledge is required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Functions:· Assemble piping assemblies and supporting strictures per assembly drawings.· Cut, thread and install pipe fittings.· Bend tubing and build mounting stands from materials such as Unistrut or welded angle iron.· Ensure quality control of assemblies via testing the assemblies upon completion. (Optional)· Wire components after mechanical assembly (optional). · Ensure the accuracy of the assemblies based on the design specifications.· Comply with company-set standards including testing and documentation. · Interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.· Ensure necessary literature packets are included with the shipment.· Procure necessary production components from internal stock.· Ensure assembly is completed within the allotted time frame.· Taping and painting of completed assemblies.· Maintain a clean and orderly work area.Non- Essential Functions:· Operate a forklift to move any necessary materials and/or assemblies and to load/unload trucks.· Provide notification of any deviation of actual hours worked vs.
estimated hours worked for production necessary for completion of project. · Track hours of all shop labor being mindful to include start times, lunch breaks. End times and overtime. · Aid with occasional minor building maintenance.
OBJECTIVES:
The Mechanical Assembler must:· Strive to product work with zero defects· Ensure product rework is minimal.· Produce quality valve train and mechanical assemblies.· Maintain a safe, efficient and friendly work environment.
REPORTING:
· The Mechanical Assembler will report to the Shop Foreman for work assignments.· The Mechanical Assembler will work with engineering with design and assembly questions.
ACCOUNTABILITY AND DECISION MAKING:
The Mechanical Assembler is empowered to:· Offer design alternatives to optimize design applications.· Assist in optimizing workflow through the shop.Requirements
