We are looking for a Director of Total Rewards to join our growing People team.This role will be based out of our Elmhurst and Chicago offices 5 days/week. 

About the role:


  • Foster adoption of and adherence to Double Good compensation philosophy, recommending enhancements in alignment with business need/feedback
  • Lead and run all compensation and benefits programs to attract, retain and motivate a high-performing team, with an eye toward continuous improvement
  • Partner with leadership to ensure that all programs support Double Good’s growth objectives and are competitive, cost effective and in compliance with legal requirements
  • Work closely with HR Business Partners, People Experience and People Operations/Tech to drive the Total Rewards systems strategy and priorities including the use of HR Analytics/Metrics
  • Set and manage to Total Rewards budget
  • Drive project management of Total Rewards initiatives including project plan development, financial, technical and or resource requirements, and communications.
  • Support other activities as required.

Specific Responsibilities Include:


Compensation

  • Oversee development of and ongoing management / maintenance of Double Good job architecture and associated salary / bonus structure
  • Lead job evaluation and the application of Double Good’s job architecture and FLSA status to positions
  • Lead all activity related to role benchmarking and published market compensation surveys throughout the year and audit survey output, market trends and competitive pay positions to ensure compensation philosophy and practices continue to align with market
  • Ensure that compensation program and plans remain in compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations 
  • Lead compensation review/benchmarking process including establishing budgets, key dates, drafting communications, and working closely with People Team

Benefits

  • Design, implement and routinely assess our benefits competitiveness relative to market, and ensure program compliance
  • Actively lead the relationship with benefits broker and benefit plan vendors and auditors to effectively manage services provided, premiums and other financial obligations, and plan administration including issue resolution
  • Act as key point of contact for employee questions and issues associated with benefit programs
  • Assess opportunities to enhance benefits offering in the areas of physical, mental and financial well-being while effectively managing return on investment and alignment to budget
  • Execute processes and controls to ensure total compliance with regulatory agencies and organizations.

Experience & Skills we value:


  • Minimum of 10+ years’ progressive experience crafting and leading compensation and benefits programs for private or public company
  • Bachelor’s degree in business-related major required
  • Experience working in a fast growing/fast paced organization with mix of both exempt and non-exempt, tech and non-tech roles
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and present materials in a clear and concise manner
  • Demonstrated history designing, developing, communicating and administering compensation strategies and plans
  • Willingness to roll up one’s sleeves and dive deep
  • Ability to achieve goals through influencing, partnering and developing trusting and productive relationships with leaders across the organization
  • Ability to learn and leverage technology to effectively deliver compensation & benefit programs
  • Well-developed analytical skills and problem-solving skills with the ability to think proactively and act strategically to ensure our compensation and benefit programs are meeting the needs of the business.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while delivering high quality results.
  • Advanced interpersonal, listening and communication skills, and a track record of effectively communicating with and influencing at all levels, including the ability to help our executives, people leaders and employees understand Double Good’s compensation philosophy and associated programs.
  • Strong customer focus and orientation.
  • Working knowledge of US employment law and practices as it relates to compensation (i.e. job classification) and benefit (i.e. leaves of absence) programs

Preferred Education and Experience: 

  • Master’s degree in related field
  • PHR, CCP or other compensation specific certifications a plus
  • Experience working with Rippling, ADP, Workday or UKG a plus

Our mission is the foundation of everything we do — create joy and reward those committed to helping others. It began when we created a way for youth sports teams to sell our popcorn and keep half of the profit. Soon, kids were sending us letters to tell us how much it meant to them to play on a team and how the popcorn helped them pay for registration or buy new uniforms. Our brochure fundraising program has grown up alongside the kids who use it, becoming the quickest, easiest way to raise money. We started the online fundraising program to make it even easier. With just a few taps, an organizer creates an event page and invites each member of the team to build their own pop-up store. Everything gets stored and shared digitally through a link, so family and friends can support them through social media and texting. We've raised more than 70 million dollars to help kids do what they love. With fundraising at our core, we realized we'd built a community of people passionate about helping others. We started the Double Good Kids Foundation to make sports more accessible to kids with special needs by providing equipment, education, and opportunities. That's where you come in: 50% of every dollar you spend when you buy popcorn online goes to help kids with special needs. Our innovative corporate gifting program contributes, too.
