GXM is seeking a highly driven Mid-Level Systems Engineer to join our technical team. Our team is looking to welcome an experienced technical professional to work in support of GXM projects for government clients in the Arlington, VA area and in support of company-level efforts across project teams. Selected candidates will provide end user support for any technical issues involving the hardware, software, network, or telecommunications systems utilized by the company, project teams and outside customers. Primary Responsibilities:
- Administer, setup, and manage on-premise and cloud systems, ensuring compliance with NIST SP 800-171, CMMC, and CMMI controls and standards.
- Manage systems within the accreditation boundary, including Office 365, Active Directory, Jira, Bitbucket, VPN, firewalls, and network switches.
- Support all office activities involving hardware, software, security systems, technical procurement requirements.
- Provide expert-level technical support for system, software, and hardware issues.
- Maintain and update the company’s existing System Security Plan and Authorized Use Policy according to NIST 800-171 standards/controls.
- Maintain adherence to compliance standards through scanning, patching, auditing, and documentation.
- Develop future technical roadmaps and explore new technologies.
- Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software, with an emphasis on security.
- Oversee and manage all aspects of physical inventory, including tracking, auditing, and reporting on inventory levels. Ensure accurate and timely updates to the inventory database.
- Maintain a comprehensive database of all licenses, software, hardware, and other business-critical assets. Monitor expiration dates and renewals and ensure compliance with licensing agreements with project and GXM team members.
- Continuously assess and improve inventory and database management processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Work closely with other team members including the systems engineering team, procurement, and finance to align inventory and licensing management with organizational needs.
- Regularly audit the inventory and licensing database to ensure accuracy and integrity of data. Implement measures to prevent data loss and unauthorized access.
- Review all technical procurements for compliance with company and government contract policies.
- Support all onboarding and offboarding activities and meetings with GXM team members with software, hardware, license, cyber, and other engineering topics.
Skills Needed:
- Must be US Citizen
- 5-10 years of experience in enterprise IT support services and/or Systems Engineering.
- Proficiency in Windows, Linux, MacOS, AWS, Azure, and Office 365.
- Strong problem-solving, customer engagement, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated security practices, including using tools like Microsoft Defender.
- Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, or Go.
- Critical thinking and self-education skills, with independent research capabilities.
- Available to work onsite 5 days a week in Arlington, VA.
- Strong customer engagement skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Possible hybrid role after initial 3 months
Highly Desirable:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Active Secret-level security clearance.
- Previous Help Desk work.
- Experience with Microsoft Intune, Entra AD, and related Microsoft management products.
- Proficiency in Atlassian products (Jira, Bitbucket).
- Relevant certifications, including: IAT Level II (CompTIA Security+, CCNA Security, GSEC, SSCP).
- Relevant Cloud Certifications such as (Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Google Associate Cloud Engineer.
- Other Industry Certifications (CISSP, CISM, PMP, MCSE, RHCE, VCP).
- Knowledge of modern DevSecOps practices.
- Familiarity with CMMI, ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 standards.
