About the Role
As an Implementation Engineer for Wheel you are the technical lynchpin through the entire implementation lifecycle. You will work closely with our customers to ensure their implementation experience is a signature one. You should be passionate about making the customer's experience with Wheel best in class. You will educate, empower, and ensure their success on the Wheel platform. Your technical expertise in Wheel’s technology will allow you to find best-fit solutions, onboard and educate new customers, and support the long-term success of the customer pre and post kickoff. As an Implementation Engineer, you are the technical customer implementation lead within Wheel.
You will own the execution of building, configuring and testing the solution with the client based on the agreed scope of work. To aid your customers, you will work closely with every team at Wheel, from Sales and Product, through to Engineering and Client Success. As an Implementation technical lead, you should be passionate about speed to value and delivering a sustainable solution that delights your clients.
What You’ll Do
Client facing technical leadership
Execute technical tasks for implementations, migrations and expansions.
Drive technical discussions and implementations to committed timelines.
Work closely with Implementation Managers to orchestrate workload and timeline commitments.
Deliver system environment build and configuration activities to support the testing and deployment of the client solution.
Review API requirements and deliver workflows and system configuration to support integration and testing with client systems.
Be curious and keep an eye out for new technical requirements/discovery, solution identification and provide technical recommendations to client and internal Wheel teams.
Help each customer on-board during their technical integration phase, and manage technical work needed to launch.
Advise the customer on technical best practices, and implementation of Wheel’s products and features.
You are the first point of contact for responding to customer’s technical questions. and alerting customers to potential issues with their integrations during the Implementation lifecycle.
Be the first point of contact for internal teams to answer questions about our products and integrations, and triage and fix technical issues.
Collaborate, provide requirements, and open tickets with Engineering and Product teams on technical tasks they are required to complete for successful launch.

Who You Are
SaaS Deployment Experience
Fluent in one more popular programming languages (e.g. Python, JavaScript, Ruby) and a strong desire to expand your skills.
Solid understanding of RESTful API architecture and experience helping clients integrate systems via API.
Proficient in working with JSON and YAML files for configuring client environments.
Familiar with tools like GitHub and Jira for version control and project management.
2+ years of experience with a B2B SaaS API-centric product - you’re familiar with the needs of customers integrating with a SaaS platform.
3+ years of experience in a customer-facing role.
You've built web applications before or contributed to existing web applications in a meaningful way.
You have previous exposure working with AWS.
You're not afraid of command-line interfaces or analyzing HTTP requests and responses in a browser’s web inspector.
Understanding of, or experience with, regulatory requirements such a PCI DSS, HIPAA, and SOC-2.
Work cross-functionally with teams to advise and execute project tasks to ensure successful Wheel clients launches.
You can communicate complex concepts clearly to a wide variety of audiences; both technical and non-technical.
