AEye, Inc. is looking for a Hardware Systems Engineer to improve performance for
cutting edge MEMS-based scanning LiDAR systems. The candidate will work with MEMSdesign engineers, quality engineers, hardware engineers, and manufacturing engineers todevelop software and hardware test systems for component-level and systems-level testingand validation. They will analyze results and will work closely with the development teamto incorporate hardware design and control improvements. We are looking for someonewho is well versed in hardware and systems testing and has experience with Python andC/C++ on Linux.
The individual should also be capable of working in a cross-functionalenvironment to resolve issues quickly.
Location: Dublin, CA (Bay Area)
This position requires the candidate to be on-site 3-5 days/week depending onworkload and testing schedule.
Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop component-level hardware test systems to characterize MEMS mirrors,control electronics, and optical scan-blocks Write test software for automated data collection and analysis Characterize firmware utilities to optimize mirror performance at a system level Coordinate data collection with team members, analyzing data, and presentingresults to team members Develop verification procedures and test infrastructure to characterize LiDARsystems and complete DV testing Synthesize test results and collaborate with development engineers on designimprovements Perform technical writing for reports/proposals, prepare presentations, interactwith team members, and lead technical development projects Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Essential Skills & Experience Requirements (required to be considered):
B.S or M.S in Electrical Engineering / Computer Science or related fields with 5+years of hands-on experience Proficient in C/C++ and Python programming Hands on experience with testing hardware and interfacing with lab test equipment Familiarity with Linux OS and development tools Experience with signals and systems concepts including filtering, FFTs, DSP Need a base understanding of FPGAs, control systems and DSPs
Preferred Skills & Experience (useful):
Understanding of temperature chambers Experience with Jira and, version control tools (Bitbucket, Github) Experience with radar/lidar systemsSalary Range: $132,600-$163,900GH 7/24 #143
