We’re excited about the possibility of you joining our mission. We are looking for a Quality Program Manager to join our growing Operations team. Location - onsite 5 days/week out of our Burr Ridge production facility and require occasional travel to our Elmhurst shipping facility.
About the role:
- Work with the Director of Brand Technical to align on the food safety and quality function’s vision, goals, and priorities.
- Oversee the development, implementation, review and maintenance of a wholistic food safety and quality assurance program that not only meets regulatory requirements but also delivers an exceptional customer experience
- Provide guidance to site FSQA teams to mitigate food safety, sanitation and quality risk
- Work closely alongside operations teams and provide clear communication and support to implement new, or roll out changes to existing, food safety and quality programs
- Develop and maintain effective KPIs to keep a pulse on quality and food safety performance and challenges, and report on them regularly to inform key stakeholders
- Manage Food Safety and Quality team members and ensure sufficient support for operations, while providing guidance and ensuring progress on the team’s projects and priorities
- Stay abreast of current industry trends, challenges, and regulatory changes, and advise on related opportunities within Double Good
- Manage the mock recall process, ensuring traceability up and down the supply chain in collaboration with partners in procurement, operations, legal, and customer operations
- Support our maintenance, engineering, safety and sanitation teams on capital projects to maintain product quality and safety
- Evaluate and find opportunities to improve existing processes such as environmental monitoring, allergen management, intentional adulteration/food fraud and other specialty programs
Experience & Skills we value:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in food science, food technology, microbiology or a related field.
- 7+ years of progression experience in quality assurance, food safety, food distribution, or food manufacturing.
- Thorough understanding of Food Safety regulations, laws, and best practices including those from FDA, USDA, and other state and local entities.
- Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining quality and food safety programs
- Success in assessing risk, determining appropriate mitigation strategies, and being confident in making product disposition decisions
- Experience managing and coaching a team, including the ability to create workforce development plans and support team members in their career progression
- Demonstrated ability to embrace change and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
Nice to have and/or you’ll learn:
- Proficiency in eQMS usage, especially TraceGains
- Compliance and GMP auditing development and execution
- 3rd party Practitioner certification or experience preferred
- PCQI and HACCP Certified
- Demonstrated successes in change management and/or continuous improvement
