Day in the Life of a Salesforce PMO Manager


As a PMO Manager, you are primarily responsible for the overall performance of a team of assigned (Sr) Project Managers and their assigned engagements. You are expected to meet with your direct reports regularly, coach them, and report progress to the (Sr) PMO Director. You also assume accountability for the success of the total book of business associated with your team. A team of approximately 3-6 Direct Reports will be assigned. Your secondary responsibilities will be focused on delivering the highest quality project experience as the face of Neocol and main point of contact on project assignments for the clients.

You will establish a comprehensive understanding of client expectations and business processes and then architect and manage a plan to meet those goals. This position will involve travel. PMO Manager Responsibilities (40%)

  • Accountable and Responsible for the overall performance of assigned Direct Reports (3-6 reports) and accountable for their associated assigned Projects 
  • Provide Direct Report oversight including training, escalation support, and project success
  • Support, onboard, and train on all PM responsibilities, ensuring adherence to Neocol’s standard methodology 
  • Serve as coverage model and escalation point for Direct Reports and provide support for escalations involving other departments as needed
  • Employee Coaching and Improvement
  • Maintain a motivating working environment for your Direct Reports
  • Meet with Direct Reports regularly to manage and coach performance
  • Evaluate direct report performance and make recommendations to the PMO Director about employee actions
  • Deliver appropriate performance improvement and coaching plans for direct reports when needed
  • Develop and Deliver Quarterly and Annual reviews 
  • Participate in strategic company initiatives and process improvement efforts as assigned

Sr. Project Manager Responsibilities (60%)

  • Coordinate with Client PM to own scope, schedule, budget and coordinate with Neocol team resources accordingly
  • Work with internal and Client team members to successfully achieve project objectives
  • Work with other Neocol Project Managers to share resources across projects and maintain forecasts
  • Clear and effective communication on risks, scope changes, and an understanding of change management techniques and processes
  • Proper escalation and support provided for internal resource needs and oversight

Required Qualifications


  • Direct Report management experience
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience delivering projects in a consultant capacity, with Salesforce experience
  • Proficiency demonstrated working in Salesforce CPQ, Revenue Cloud, data migrations, integrations, Salesforce Billing 
  • Familiarity with technical solutions utilizing both waterfall and agile methodologies
  • Comfortable with maintaining high utilization in multiple fast paced projects
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills

Preferred Qualifications


  • PMO leadership experience
  • Creation of PMO tools, methodologies and training of PMO Team
  • PM Tool Experience: Salesforce and reporting capabilities, JIRA, Smartsheet, Slack, Google Workspace
  • Scrum Master and/or PMP certifications
  • Ability to see situations from all aspects and articulate solutions clearly for the best path forward.
